I don't want a soft landing. I want it to crash and burn so hard that the very idea of preserving any part of it is anathema. I want all the corrupt power structures that ruined us to be actively eliminated. Leave the failed experiment where it belongs. In the history books. Learn the lessons of its fall. Make something better. Which is an exceptionally low bar.

It really isn't hard. Put the welfare of the mass of the people first and foremost. "Mass" meaning the whole. All the people. Otherwise what's the point of a government at all? Don't recreate a society of slaves that serves a tiny fraction of a tiny fraction of the most wealthy parasites. Value human life beyond its utility to an oligarchy. Set a floor on standard of life. A base level that people can't fall below and can build off of. Or not. If they want to just live their life let them.

If this game is as good as it looks Bethesda has to really step it up on Fallout 5 or big daddy Microsoft might give the IP back to its creators.

I have to believe that somewhere in if not this galaxy then another that intelligent life has to exist. Somewhere. And no humans don't count. We're barely sentient. We still hate each other for skin color. We are stupid apes and we don't deserve the stars. We may get there eventually. But we aren't there yet.

That's honestly the best case scenario. As unlikely as it is.

This country is too big. Too corrupt. And far too corrupted to fix. To begin to fix this country we have to get both houses of congress and the president to overturn Citizens United. Now how many of those people do you think are going to vote to make the bribes being paid to them illegal?

Now if for whatever reason the US was to balkanize. To break up into smaller "nation states". That would make real change a whole lot more viable.

I'm happy to be surprised. But I have set my expectations appropriately low.

I expect some inciting event over the summer. Someone gets killed by the feds and those protests really do turn into real riots. Then the clown prince will escalate. Open war by Christmas.

Like I said. I'm happy to be proven wrong. I would be delighted to be proven wrong. Maybe we'll luck out and he'll have a stroke mid ramble or maybe some general will shoot the bastard during his military parade. But I don't think we're that lucky.

Another possible is a general strike. That Union leader they black bagged earlier this week. He hasn't been released yet. If they try to deport him on some trumped up bullshit that's gonna have an apocalyptic backlash from basically every union except the police union.

If it wasn't fun people wouldn't do it.

They're committed to the paycheck. Don't be naive. Do you think American soldiers are uniquely unable to carry out atrocities?
