  • While I love Wayland and think it's far superior to x.org for general multi-monitor use, I still cannot screenshare with discord. I recently setup a streaming environment as well with obs and it doesn't work with Wayland either. Until that gets worked out I'm using x.org and no I'm not using a third party discord app, that's against ToS and I have a couple of servers that I manage. Creating a new account for me isn't that easy.

  • It doesn't matter, all that means is you created an account on a different instance/server that can access content on .world, it's the same situation the other way around, .world to .ml instances. It takes a bit to get used to it but after a while it just starts to feel like Reddit but with more meaningful conversations. I have an account on both instances in case one goes down I can still access the same content, that's the beauty of the fediverse.

  • IMO the best case scenario is trump goes to jail and Biden announces he's not running for re-election. Biden not running being symbolic to show it wasn't about winning the election, it was about upholding the rule of law. I know that won't happen because Biden is too proud of himself to do that, but that simple gesture would do a lot to heal this country.

  • What kind of ads? The only ads I've seen are ads for the subscription and "features" that are locked behind the sub/one-time price. Otherwise this is by far the best Lemmy app out there right now.

  • It's performant and smooth on my pixel6a, every mastodon app I've tried is jittery and choppy. The interface is just easy to understand, I'm sure fedilab is fine once you get used to it, but it felt like jumping into the deep end without a life jacket.

  • Interesting, I'm just looking for a twitter replacement so it sounds like mastodon is probably the best option right now for me. I've been happy with it, fedilab is a little confusing so I'm currently using megalodon.
