ELI5: How are these massive adblock lists kept updated so regularly?

  • I have tried Blokada and RethinkDNS already (I guess DNS66 is no longer maintained - I may be wrong) but finally zeroed in on PersonalDNSFilter.

    I don't see it being mentioned much - but IMHO it is much more lightweight and customizable than the other two.

    I point to Cloudflare DoT for DNS, and use the OISD blocklist, and that's all I need for device-level blocking ( I already use Firefox + uBO in my Android device so I'm good on that front).

  • Unless the question specifies which God it is referring to ( Ancient Greek gods like Zeus or Poseidon, Roman Gods like Apollo or Mars, Judeo-Christian God, Hindu Gods etc - or referring to the concept of a "Creator" in general ) - it can not be answered.

    Assuming it refers to a "Creator" - then no, I do not see any evidence supporting that Creator.

    God is supposed to be All Powerful AND All Good. The current fucked up state of the Humankind clearly suggests that he (or it) is not both of those at the same time.

    As the other post says - Lemmy users would be able to interact with Reddit, and Reddit users would be able to interact with Lemmy.

    But the matter of the fact is -

    (Userbase of Fediverse) <> (Userbase of Reddit)

    And I believe Reddit bothers only about their own userbase, i.e. registered with them.

    If I were spez I wouldn't do it (but F U spez anyway)

    You have a very legit question, and I too thought about this.

    And I think the reason is just the same as registering your firearms - because in the end your car is a 4,000 lb killing machine.
