At one of my previous jobs I worked with a lot of women who grew up in former Soviet republics and they expected their husbands to make a great effort for the day lol. Flowers, a gift, cooking a meal, whatever. They took it very seriously.
I don't know if going around gifting your coworkers something would be that much appreciated. Maybe a flower or something? I guess it depends on how good your relation is with your coworkers.
Over here the Union had several actions on different locations. I work at the union actually and my department has lots of women working in it, but it wasn't too special during the day. I did walk into a protest of theirs happening when I went to a bar afterwards with my gf.
There have been stories of that going around but they seem incredibly untrustworthy. Like, getting foreign troops to help out is not that weird. Ukraine does it too. But to pick random Indian guys off the streets in India, promising them work in Russia only to send them to the front, untrained, is just bonkers.
The epitome of human progress that is the Dutch Green/Labor fusion posted a poster for Womens Day yesterday. On it were a satisfyer, birth control measures and a clitoris.
Ordered a box of native flower seeds to spread around the city in an attempt to add some greenery to it. Also for my window sill in my appartment to look at pretty bees and stuff.
Yup 😎 just work and when I get back from work I don't have the energy to do something so I watch brain dead television instead. It has gotten to the point that I was anxious before my workout yesterday, even though I usually love working out.
I'm currently in a 'what's the point?' period in my life. I'm not suicidal but I do wonder what more there is to life than work for the vast majority of the time with little to no positive developments when it comes to housing, climate, right wing extremisme etc. Like, why am I making this much effort for this messed up system? Why not just start living my life in a more meaningful way?
Belgian winter sucks ass. I have seen the sun for maybe three days in the past few months. Otherwise it's just gray or rainy. Great for your vitamin D levels.
A Flemish nazi wanted to have a talk at a university and it sparked a lot of protest. The university wanted to let it happen because 'freeze peach'. Guy does the talk and now the university will press charges because surprise surprise the guy went on a racist white supremacist rant 🤯🤯🤯
