  • I think, to truly boycott something, is to actually be invested in it. To really NOT buy or use a service or product, no matter the situation. To look for other products and services that are more moral and to start using them instead, even when the costs would be higher.

    What is important to you?

You can hate the system, hate someone, a thing, product, service. Something. But it's your choice, will you actually do differently or still just follow the path they made for you as an option to follow. And sometimes it may be the only path available.

  • It seems that this decentralized style starts to be a new trend?

First this Fediverse/Lemmy I heard about. Then The Matrix (messaging platform). And now these Mastodon & WreMin.

Well, if that prevents or slows down the corrupted law of enshittification, then I'm approving it!

  • Some folks enjoy reading articles. Some folks enjoy to watch, listen and read (captions) at the same time. Some folks rather ask around and learn through conversations.

I've understood that it's generally easier to learn new things when you use many different channels (audio, imagery etc). To many people but not to all.

  • Well, caffeine as in Coca Cola, but not often (more often when served than bought myself). No alcohol. Medicine, I think 99% of the time it's Ibuprofen and that also is not often.

Abuse is one problem, yes. It's worth mentioning though that not everyone approves even small doses of illegal drug use - no matter was it completely harmless to the user or not.

  • Pay to win?

There is a subscription system I think. Gives a bigger energy pool, higher energy regeneration and I think it also gives points. It can be bought with game money as well, I think.

    Haven't looked into it myself.

  • I wanted to tell about the game while not making it too beneficial for me 🙂

  • Alas, it seems to be a matter of luck. And, how whatever country deals with people who make wrong choices in their lives.

When it comes to crime and imprisonment - some countries have humane conditions, teach prisoners life skills and give opportunities to study a job, to give a chance to becoming a functioning part of the society. And some countries automatically kill or torture them, or leave them to rot while other prisoners harm them.

I've never used drugs and I hope I never will.

I would hope that legalizing drugs would make drugs cleaner to use (take the impurities away), the governments provide better health care around drugs and the problems they cause, benefit the good (medical) properties of drugs and help out people who use them instead of throwing them behind bars, giving them a chance to overcome their challenges and to even become a working part of the community and the country.

I know that one argument is about criminal activities involved in creating drugs and that they could grow if drugs were legalized. If they really grew in power through legalizing drugs, I don't know, what would be the best course of action.

I think it would be crucial to add resources in research about drugs. How do they affect their users and how to help making their every-day life better.

    • I'm on Lvl 15. I have unlocked less than 1% of all the game awards. My account is 0,77 years old
    • My battle stats are crap without a doubt (even more so when compared to the strongest players), but I only target weak players who have left their accounts ages ago so it doesn't matter much
    • I'm in a company and a faction that provides capacity bonuses to the item amount I can buy through traveling
    • I have unlocked stock market. I make some small money through that sometimes. I also do bank investments
    • I have set up a private island rent with faction friends. They rent it for me. It provides happiness and other benefits
    • I sell random stuff from time to time. Plushies is my biggest income
    • I participate in weekly chains (it's a faction fight system) with my faction friends as a token of my appreciation for being aboard with them on our common journey
    • I have pretty much mastered the two first new crime types (provided through the new crime system of TORN) - small thefts and bootlegging. Working on the graffiti crime as the next goal. Card skimming is probably my most favorite crime type at this point
  • the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment

Yeah, gotta agree that prostitution is something different, something more specific, and something not mixed in every work existing (climbing in work ranks through sexual favors is another matter).

  • Somehow, I find it peculiar, that in one of the pictures she gets help!

  • Would it be a good idea to make a community moderation meeting where every mod must be present and agreeing on common rules of moderation? (I don't know if they already do this - I don't know anything about moderating this place)

  • I trust in the Golden Rule, and my behavior within carries me to victory!

I trust that the Golden Rule will be "enough the same" - compared to the given rules here - so that I will not break any rules!

  • I love to create content (comments, posts) that are both thought-provoking of more serious topics, and content for amusement as well. While agreeing on the rules, I want to go and be me (delving bravely in controversial topics as well since I enjoy them too), without trying in purpose to generate only stuff that I know is already-agreeable to folks for gaining only Internet points.

I know that karma is a double-edged sword - it can give a boost to someone who wants to create good content, making more of it while feeling appreciated...and the same thing for someone who just goes "full s***posting". Don't get me wrong - both have their time and place to be important, but...

...I admit I find myself thinking and wishing for a karma system, repeatedly. I have already counted some of the votes I've gotten from my top comments and posts (yes, negatives calculated too!) once. But if the deal just is that there won't be a karma system because it would create more harm than good, I'll accept it, continue dreaming and trying to make more content. And calculating my gains once in a while to get any idea of where I'm at 😂 (could be cool if there was an Online tool that did the calculating by entering my username!)

  • I agree. I just watched the movie.

I approve men as much as women, and ladies should have the same chances at the world. I knew I liked the movie as soon as I saw the trailer, though I don't understand many of the controversial topics presented by it (I'm too simple 😂). I find it interesting that someone gets offended by the movie (constructive criticism is important, folks!).

I'm no perfect as a man and so ain't the closest lady to me neither.

  • I approve - though I'm wondering that does the pink box color fit/do justice to the theme 🤔

  • I started in Kbin. I think that the activity level was smaller in there, which made me swap. Another reason was that Lemmy feels nicer to use (I like its looks more and I found a neat app on the phone to use it. Didn't find an app for Kbin).

  • Hmm. Does this mean that it's expensive to run this whole Fediverse thing and that the money is running out?

  • This is wholesome 💓
