  • Wow. That's just some blatant political cock sucking if I've ever seen it. You wouldn't even guess that Trump is the one who originally suggested and pushed for banning Tiktok.

  • It is worse than that. They made it so the printer will refuse to print if it hasn't installed a new update. They took control over the printer away from their owners and it really looks like this is meant to pave the way to anti-consumer practices such as forcing an always on-online requirement, introducing subscription fees to keep some functionalities that used to be free and/or denying the ability to use third party filaments or parts. The "it is for security" excuse is pretty much a meme at that point. It never is about security and always about screwing over the consumer for more money.

I was looking forward to buying a Bambu printer but now it is off the table for me. I've been burned too many times by devices that arbitrarily require to be connected to "the cloud" to function. There is absolutely no good reason why a 3D printer cannot be directly controlled via USB or local network without the need for a connection to the internet for "authentication" (imagine how much more secure that would be!). I'm glad I got to see this before I bought one. Bambu owners should be pissed right now. They just got the rug pulled from under them.

  • I'm baffled that it even lasted that long. I have never even seen anyone ever buy or eat one of those. I don't even know what it looks like out of the packaging and every time I see it at the store the picture on the box reminds me of something straight from a medical encyclopedia.

  • He did get caught in a lie by bragging to be a top Path of Exile II player with an extremely highly ranked character and then when he streamed himself playing it became obvious that he had not even a basic understanding of the game's mechanics, essentially proving to everyone that he paid someone to grind up a character for him.

The guy is a compulsive liar in desperate need for praise. He's now turning video games into pay to win games for himself.

Also, imagine claiming that you deserve all the money you make because of all the long hours of hard work you put in and yet you still have time to stream video games while being the CEO of several companies at the same time, each of which pay more in an hour than most people will do in a year. What a fucking joke.

Elon Musk is the living proof that meritocracy is dead.

  • So people are going to jail over this and proper hard measures are going to be taken to address the obvious imbalance of power that allows companies like this to do this over and over again right? They're not just going to give the company another slap on the wrist fine that won't even cover how much money they've stolen from people, leaving them still making a profit for doing this and leaving the door wide open for more abuse like that to happen over and over again, right?

    Right?

  • It's just another case of Musk trying to sound smart but instead ends up proving that he doesn't even have a basic working understanding on the subject.

I guess this time the only difference is that it doesn't look like he paid an actually competent person to help him with it.
