  • And yet a lot of my coworkers have to create integrations with salesforce o.O

  • I hate to say it to ya, but people are you are why they can get away with it. I feel your pain though, i couldnt imagine what would happen if vlc were to go this low. Id have no replacement i like as much as vlc hebe

  • YEEET

    Jump
  • Ye, i was like... Is that a deviljho?!?!

  • Thanks spiderman, but you cant tell me what to do!

  • Personally id tackle it in an agile way, and implement it step by step as user feedback comes in. Like sure, id like user profiles to look like they look in boost and liftoff, but id be happy to see them in comments first.
But i am not part of the project so its not for me to decide nor tell you how to run it! Thanks for linking this though and thanks for the app! Liking it so far! :)

  • Hm, that PR is one of the things i was missing ye! Im not sure why it hasnt been merged yet though. Sure, the guy didnt ask if he could work on it but the code looks ok from a far and he has it done now anyway. Might as well merge it then anyway...

  • Thats a fair reasoning. Im running lineageos myself (without root) so i can also do a lot of customization or app removal. That and lineageos is freaking good and keeps updating older phones!

  • Sure, but why root? These days you can flash custom roms without root on a lot of phones (including my fairphone 4)

  • And that a week after eu announced they'd investigate apple for excluding the feature in the eu.
Looks like somebody was called out for having bullshit hehe

  • Fairphone 4 is not slow for general usage, but for gaming it can be slow depending on the load, ye.
Gamecube emulation would be slower than latest and greatest, but those soc's only have 4 years of support, and thats not up to fairphone's standards

Just like any hardware, it all depends what you use it for and what your requirements are.

  • Its gaming. I asked this in an old thread before and the response was gaming and emulation. Which is fair if you want the latest and greatest, but general usage on my fairphone 4 is snappy and fine so idk. I dont do gaming on my phone though :)

  • You can add framework laptops to that list too.
To have windows you pay extra, no os is free

  • Knowing multiple people who have gone through IVF procedures, and have had it fail time and time again, i felt that as well. They were heartbroken, time and time again.

One lf them has a child on the way, and the other has stopped trying, for those who wonder :)

  • This.
I got a github copilot subscription at work and its useful for suggesting code in small parts, but i would never let it decide what design pattern to use to tackle the problem we are solving. Once i know the solution i can use ai, and verify its output to use in the code

  • I agree with what you said, and its imo why the discussion of a factor of 1000 and 1024 will always rage on. Im a developer, and do embedded stuff in my free time. Everything around me is factor 1024 because of it, and i hate the factor 1000. But from a generic user standpoint, i agree its a lot more user friendly, as they are used to the metric system of a factor of 10

  • I never knew the whole thing was considered part of the metric system, makes sense though.
I love the metric system to death because its so simple and easy, and it links different measurements together ( 1l of water = 1kg etc ).

That said, a computer works differently and because we work in factors of 2, 1000 bytes being a kilobyte makes no sense once you start working with bits and low level stuff. Other than that, i can see why the stuff was redefined.

Also, i think linux also works in factors of 1024, but id need to check

  • Jokes on me for saying github != git though
