  • I rarely see that,. But what I see all the time is Linux lovers being toxic fanboys trying to shove their "passion" down everyone's throat. Also, 99% of them being wrong about what it can "offer".

Its a pure superiority complex fanbase.

  • So your answer to "not owning" anything is to borrow the "thing" from someone/something else that owns it?

With your library example literally not being possible under the dystopic future OP projects.

  • I'm sorry to hear about the fire, but I think you missed the point.

The reason for a loss matters and the emotions around the reason also change. Just having blank acceptance is dangerous and people/corporatations would love to take advantage of you if you just accept bullshit.

  • Because accidents happen?

Why do we need any form of safety precaution?

I don't intend to crash my car. I still wear a seat belt.

I don't intent to burn my house down. I still have a fire extinguisher.

I don't intent to chainsaw my leg off. I still wear safety trousers.

I don't intent my furniture to fall on me. I still secure it to the wall.

  • I 100% believe we should charge companies a fee for any mistakes they made that we had to spend time correcting.

I know banks do this in the UK if you complain and they're in the wront.

All companies should do this. Watch how fast they'd fix their shit when there's a fincial penny related to shit service.

  • Okay, wow.

You do know rent is just someone with a mortgage on a house too right? (Paid off or not)

And if that landlords mortgage goes up, that will also make the rent they charge go up. ( Often far more than the rent, as it's percentage related. So, if your friend was renting, he'd be even worse off...
