I’d never heard of him until I tried his yoga workout and I completely agree. He seems so genuine and serious about lifting others up (ummm…no pun intended…maybe…).

Another thought this just popped into my head is that the next generation may not have been brought up with the same fundamental hacking skills that were somewhat inherent in being technical in the late 70s-mid 90s. Could you still learn them?…Of course, but having grown up with BBSs and LoD (Legion of Doom, and the like) and pre-WWW, some things were just more prevalent when it came to learning about the guts of systems and “cybersecurity” (that word didn’t really exist back then).

Actually that makes sense, and saddens me a bit there wasn’t a contingent to pass the torch to.

What actually happened to them? Did key members get tracked down or something?

I have King Soopers (Kroger) or Whole Foods. Since Whole Foods is owned by Amazon is that even a better option employee-rights wise?

I can relate…I went to cooking school and now I have no problem making food for like 6+ people at a time, but when I try to make portions for just myself it’s SO much harder. Every little adjustment makes a difference.

ETA: I mentioned cooking school just because nearly all our lessons / recipes there were for like 15+ people. Not quite the same as having been taught in a home kitchen.

There’s a health insurance industry executive conference coming up and they just voted to hold it remotely rather than in-person (as it was supposed to be).

I’m reading a book of short stories by Stephen King called “You Like it Darker.” There’s one called “Danny Coughlin’s Bad Dream,” and although it’s obviously fictional, it does a good job portraying how someone could easily get sucked into a situation like this just trying to do a good deed and end up with long-lasting and far-reaching ramifications. I liked how he had the protagonist handle it, but I’m not sure I’d be that strong and level headed. I hope I never have to find out.

I have a Panerai kinetic winding watch, and I can’t explain how much I love wearing it. There’s a certain old world, rare craftsmanship to it that I can feel the weight of on my wrist, and hear when I hold it to my ear. Somehow it makes me appreciate time passing and the value of making the most of it.

Well, it’s water under the fridge now anyway.

It was an Impossible Burger…do those have iron too? Now I’m curious…hmm…

I sprung for a takeout burger from a nearby bar today. I’d been dreaming and obsessing about it for three days. $20 later…at least my obsession is cured! (It was pretty damn good though.)

I like this trend of throwing other states into the ocean. For too long Alaska and Hawaii have been floating around out there on their own!

Hurricane Sandy in Connecticut. My house caught on fire…twice…when a tree fell on some wires and caused power to backfeed into my home. Luckily I didn’t touch anything or I might not be here to tell the tale. It was supposedly put out once (fire was inside the walls), and I was allowed back to fetch a few essentials, but it filled up with smoke again because of a hot spot or something…and I had to convince dispatch to send a truck out a second time. I was displaced for three months and lost about 85% of my belongings. Luckily some VERY brave firefighters prevented my entire house from burning to the ground. 0/10 - do not recommend

I’ve also been in earthquakes, blizzards, and wildfires, but nothing comparable to that experience on a personal level.

I live in Denver, so Red Rocks is practically in my back yard, and this book is sitting on the couch next to me. I went to college with Matt & Trey…seriously, I had tears of joy watching that.

ETA: I highly recommend this book if you like looking at pretty pictures of electric basses, but be warned…bass buying addiction may ensue…
