  • Right, and I assume that's the vast majority of whatever women these guys are satisfying their fetishes with (aside from women paid for it).

But it's still odd the fetish itself is so overwhelmingly male.

  • I give Ada a lot of credit. In the early days, I had the following interaction:

TOPIC: Something about sexual/gender preferences, I don't remember, asking people their preferences

Me: responds with my preferences (I'm straight cis male, I like women so I'm down with post-transition trans women but pre-transition don't turn me on)

Some random user: respectfully asks if I would be willing to date a pre-transition trans man

Me: I guess, but it probably wouldn't work due to the fact that what I like about their body, they hate

Some of those professionally offended people took a misleading screenshot of my response and started screaming about "chasers".

Ada did an admin post to the community backing me up and calling those idiots out.

So unless she's changed a lot, I don't think she's a troll. It would have been easy to go with the mob but she stuck up for me.

  • So, no right wing government exists or has ever existed will ever exist or could ever exist.

No "-wing" government exists except in relation to something else. That's a fundamental feature of reality. The current US government is more right wing than I would like. It's more right wing than most of Europe. It's more right wing (though not by as much as you think) than the US population would like. It's less right wing than Saudi Arabia, or the Taliban.

And, of course, not all governments map perfectly to the left-right dynamic as we view it in the West. It's a mostly useful metric though.

And, of course, there's a difference between what people would want if they could wave a magic wand and make it so, vs what the people will support as politically achievable. That's a big thing the Left fails to realize about the more centrist Democratic majority: yes, we want universal healthcare. Yes, we want strong unions. Yes, we want equal treatment for all under the law. Yes, we want higher taxes on the rich. Yes, we want monopolies broken up. A lot of us (maybe a majority?) even want worker ownership of the means of production. But we recognize that given the strong opposition to any progress, it's just not possible to get those things immediately and without reservation. We advocate advancing towards those things as quickly as is practically feasible, while preventing backsliding from the opposition.

So asking people "what they want" without the context of what is feasible will give you answers that seem to support more radical Leftists when in reality the people giving those answers are going to vote for Harris, Biden, Warren, Pelosi, Obama, Newsom, etc. and not whatever random no-name 3rd party candidate the Socialists or Greens or whatever the flavor of the day is puts up.

  • I highly doubt it was the fetish. Some women are just like that.

Especially if you ever date an actual mom, a lot of times she'll just slip into "mom mode" without even realizing and start cooking for you or doing your laundry or whatever. It's second nature.

  • Literally EVERY SINGLE TIME a news article mentions both "porn" and "children", it turns out it's some bullshit being pushed by a Christian fundamentalist group, and often with an added dose of state surveillance and restricting liberty. Add in "terrorists"? Don't even bother with this article, it's pure hysteria propaganda. It's like a WASPy suburban mom's wet dream.

  • Most of the fediverse is male, and there's a significant trans woman space, but there's no spaces that really cater to cis women or to trans men specifically that I've seen.

And yes, I think it's reasonable to look for a space that is strongly (though not exclusively) cis-woman, in the same way that a Protestant would feel out of place in a Catholic community, even though they're all Christian. I imagine most cis women feel the same way as I (a cis man) feel when going to blahaj - like a friendly, allied visitor in a foreign land.

  • So, half of the Taliban is left wing? Half of the third Reich was left wing?

Yes. There's no universal human left vs right. Political ideologies change over time and place. The far left wing in the Taliban is roughly similar to the far right wing in America.

There is nothing particularly “stupid” about Americans.

    Gonna have to disagree there.
