the vast majority of error messages are entirely useless for you
Hard disagree. Maybe half, at most. And most importantly, if a user can't do anything about it, what's the difference between a "error code 487" vs "oops there's an unspecified error"? What's the harm in showing an actual error code?
The VAST majority of errors I see are connection issues, or some of my VPN or adblock stuff causing me to be denied access to the website. That's all stuff I can fix. And it would be a lot faster if I didn't have to trial-and-error my way to the actual problem first.
That is a problem. Republicans have captured the media. I agree that the only possible way forward for Democrats at this point is to recapture the media. All the money and policies in the world won't matter if Republicans can spew propaganda uncontested.
It's also a bit of a bigger issue that people are so gullible, but I don't think we can fix that any time soon.
It's not a vending machine or a listing on Amazon. It's not a company that exists to provide you a service. If it has the money and the volunteers and the messaging, it convinces people and it wins. If it doesn't, it doesn't.
Do you even know what a political party is? It's not some company that you pay to provide you a service. It's not some big vending machine where you put in x and are disappointed you didn't receive y.
A political party is a group of people, largely volunteers, trying to convince people of their agendas.
You're trying to purchase a victory for Dems with your vote but it doesn't work like that. You're treating it like you're in line at McDonald's ordering a burger but getting cat food and now you storm in waving your receipt and want to talk to the manager.
If you just want a party that wins and you don't care about how any of it works or what the party actually does, yeah, MAGA is for you. It's great. When you win, cool. When you don't, it's because the other guys cheated.
Because that's how the concept of democracy works. It's not like a fucking Doordash order you can make. "Hello I'd like one democracy please". If you're a citizen, it's your problem. You want your people or your policies to win, then you have to convince people to vote for them.
Ok who gives a shit. Doesn't matter if it's a full shutdown or only a 50% of the government shuts down or whatever. It's a tool we're denying the enemy.
If you have an extra 20% productivity to give, you're probably not a great worker to start with. And even so, it's rare to keep sn employee 3 years anymore.
The political parties are not fucking sports teams who go out there and play and either win or lose. You vote for them, or don't, and they consequently win, or don't.
Who the fuck are YOU to think that "boo hoo I voted correctly why didn't it work??" It's a goddamn democracy. Your vote alone is a drop in the ocean. You have to convince others as well.
The GOP is trying to do worse than dismantle the government. Dismantling it is just the first step. The next step is replacing it with something to enforce their control and theirs alone.
