  • Can someone actually update what’s going on? I read from various sources, some say it’s not real, others say it was successfully replicated, some say yet to be confirmed, some say it has low success rate. Can anyone actually put some order and explain what’s the real status of LK-99?

  • It's a DRM scheme to protect against piracy. Over the years I saw more and more shitty titles use Denuvo on release because God forbid someone steal their cash grab. A lot of titles that are of quality usually do not see the need for Denuvo.

Therefore, nowadays, for me Denuvo serves as an indicator of a potentially shitty release. They slap Denuvo on top of it so that they can pump & dump.

Maybe I'll buy the game when it's on sale, but for now I am too skeptical, especially since slapping additional DRM on an already DRM'd game (it's multiplayer only and always online, unlike previous parts that allowed offline play) does not make any sense to me.

  • Depends on the topic. Debian stable isn’t releasing software as things go on but instead update the package repositories to a version they deem stable. Minor things can change, but also if a big package update dropped on upstream and arch shipped it, some parameters can become deprecated etc.

Stick to your distro’s wiki/bbs/irc when possible, they exist for a reason ;)

  • Well.. that depends on who you ask. Some say that Teams being a part of the bundle is anti competitive (which it is). Outlook used to be only a mail client, so it made sense when it was part of the Office package, as one thing that an Office user needs, is an email client. Exchange servers had to be hosted by the company. However nowadays, you get the client and the infra for a subscription based model so it was kind of grandfathered in, I guess. If I as a company say I'm not interested in Teams and want to not pay for it as I do not plan to use it, msft will tell me it's not possible. Therefore, businesses like Slack can never succeed because I as a company will never look at alternatives if I already get a messaging app built into my Office suite.

I dunno, I'm just mumbo jumbing really and not a lawyer (or an EU citizen, for that matter). I just hate Teams.

  • If you use any Chromium based browser you’re already not respecting your privacy. By allowing Google to grow its market share, you basically allow them introduce shit like WEI without any pushback. If they owe only 1/3 of the market and the other 2/3 doesnt support it, their implementation will die.

All Chromium users are what will bring the death to the open web.

  • I picked up the RE remakes this summer sale that were -75%. I’m a pirate at heart but pirating on the Steam Deck is annoying so I’m willing to buy video games (talk about GabeN being correct once again that piracy is a service issue) for it. I’ll wait until the RE4 remake is -75% and then buy it as well, likely the next summer sale.

  • 10-15 years ago I’d say yeah sure as the difference between watching it @ home on your TV and the theatre was night and day. Nowadays, since the tech had nearly caught up I find myself preferring just watching it at home. So unless there’s a premiere that doesn’t drop on streaming services the same day, don’t bother. It’s expensive for no good reason.
