  • Because the glue cracks instead of flexing, it'll start flaking immediately and make playing more irritating than the normal scratchiness that happens when the edges of a callus starts poking up. Accidentally got super glue on one finger and playing without using that finger was less annoying than using it.

  • Government contracts to his companies amount to more than $8 million per day currently, expect that number to grow now that Musk can decide which government functions he should privatize for his own gain. Verizon's $2 billion dollar contract with the FAA is likely to be cancelled so Starlink can get their cut.

  • I'm confused by anyone who demands Ukraine should cede territory and denies they can ever join NATO. Have fun seeing Crimean/Ukrainian/etc. conflicts repeat every few years while Russia keeps learning the lesson that imperialism is back in style. Are these people literal children, or Russian bots?

Ukraine agreed to give up their nukes as part of the Budapest Memorandum which Russia shat on, and the United States showed how little their security assurances were worth. The sad reality now is Ukraine could be admitted to NATO tomorrow and it would not matter one bit, because our current president believes himself a king who cannot be forced to abide any previous treaty, law, or norm of human decency.

  • I suspect that can be true, as the sheets are one-size-fits-all rather than measuring based on the size. Usually I run laundry before it's too full to reduce increased noise in the closet near my office. If I ever notice it's not getting clean when more full I'll just throw 2 sheets in given how cheap they are

  • In practice the stagnation of IPv6 seems to be a recognition of the unintended security that NAT with IPv4 adds. From a security perspective, having every device use a public IP and trying to prevent malicious software from simply opening whatever ports it needs per device would be a headache.

  • Before widespread internet it made sense to give out numbers in the White Pages because physical mail forwarding was the other option to find people when their phone number changed. In the internet age where scammers across the globe can and will use personal information to target you for social engineering scams, it is better from a privacy perspective to have phone numbers be information you volunteer to people. There are sites which attempt to catalogue this information and ways to remove yourself from these as well. If a scammer can simply go down a list of most common names and a number string they can more easily make it appear they have a fake Amazon delivery, PayPal transaction, or other pressing issue customized with their name. Most people will not use their critical thinking, and these scams are a big enough problem already.

  • Some amount of those may believe the crisis is that the Constitution itself needs to be ignored or rewritten, because they heard so on right wing media. The ladder-pullers who believe birthright citizenship needs to go, alongside those who now desire a king rather than our backsliding and slightly less corrupt system of checks and balances.

  • I don't understand how people can be so credulous as to believe efficiency is the motivator rather than grift simply because some notorious liars said another lie. Trump used presidential visits as an excuse to visit his own properties at inflated rates, and Elon who holds Dogecoin personally and through Tesla now 'as a joke' runs a fake department called DOGE (check the coin's price now). I guarantee another $7 trillion+ tax giveaway for billionaires will be the most important bill Trump will sign, yet people who have apparently never in their life taken a math class are stoked about the prospect of taking $50 billion/year away from the poorest people on earth which among other projects treats HIV to mitigate mutation risk, resistance to current treatments, and further spread of the virus.

Any news on 'efficiency' work for the defense budget, which is $800 billion/year and only expected to increase under Republican plans?
