  • ELI5: Torrents require a way to send data and that's done through a port. Either you need to have a port available or someone else does. While you can upload without port forwarding, you're more likely to get higher connections if you have it turned on.

  • I don't understand why the billionaire class is scared. Can't they just leave? That's what bootlickers always say will happen if we raise taxes on them.

  • "many titles are designed from the ground-up to be rent seeking"

  • There is absolutely a connection between how shitty corporations are treating their customers with how likely those customers are likely to stop paying and start sailing.

Netflix in its prime was the GOAT, showing a very significant decrease in piracy. We're only seeing a rise now because of the proliferation of streaming companies. No one wants to pay for 4+ streaming services.

  • I can't remember the court case per se but it involved a self driving car hitting a pedestrian I think.

My cursory search on Google seems to now show companies being held liable for AI hallucinations, with one court case currently pending where an AI chat bot encouraged a teen to commit suicide.

Given our current administration and make up of SCOTUS I'm not holding my breath.

  • There is an awful lot of white in this picture.

  • Courts have ruled that using AI allows companies to avoid liability.

Schrödinger's corporations: corporations are people and and not people, depending on how much money they stand to gain or lose.

  • I've actually done this as what looks like a horizontal line.

It doesn't seem to help though.

  • I don't understand how the credit card industry is okay with this. Credit cards are unsecured debt that can be discharged through bankruptcy. Not only that, usually tangible purchases can be repossessed. If someone is addicted to an online game and uses their card to purchase digital assets, how are they going to make their money back?

  • There are websites that block copying to the clipboard. I wish browsers would block event binds to system keyboard shortcuts.

  • I followed most of that.

But how I read it was "Fraud? Sounds like fraud. But the kind that rich people do and won't ever get punished for."

  • Please put an NSFW tag on this. I was on the train and when I saw this I had to start furiously masturbating. Everyone else gave me strange looks and were saying things like “what the fuck” and “call the police”. I dropped my phone and everyone around me saw this image. Now there is a whole train of men masturbating together at this one image. This is all your fault, you could have prevented this if you had just tagged this post NSFW.

  • Airplanes reproduce like salmon where they spray their sperm in the air so that receptive female planes absorb it through their skin.

    That's what chemtrails are.

  • You're asking on .world, where the instance admins take a "both sides are the same" approach in addition to a "no advocating violence" against the established order.

  • This is the real LPT. Recruiters are so annoying to deal with. Avoid them if you can.

  • Not only that but Buffet and Gates are likely itemizing and taking advantage of every tax credit and deduction.

No law requires that. They can file a normal tax return and take no deductions.

Instead of living off of capital gains, they can pay themselves a salary.

    Fucking billionaires are killing us.

  • I just rewatched The Dark Knight Rises.

    I don't remember this scene.

  • Iirc, permissions for iOS are required for devs to be able to use the functions/methods under those permissions.

So if the app doesn't use them, they won't show up as needing them.
