  • Just slapping on a lidar doesn't simply solve that issue for you either. Making out individual objects from the point cloud data is equally difficult plus you're then having to deal with cameras too because Waymo has both. I don't see how you imagine having Lidar and cameras would be easier to deal with than just cameras.

Also. Tesla already has more or less solved this issue. FSD works just fine with cameras only and new HW4 models have radar too.

  • The S&P500 index doesn’t speculate about whether a company’s stock is over- or underpriced. It’s a market-cap-weighted index, meaning the weight of companies like Tesla is based on their market value, not an estimation of their future performance. Speculating about whether a stock is overvalued is something actively managed funds do, but the S&P500 is designed to passively reflect the largest U.S. companies based on size.

  • Is there any consensus withing the 'pro-choice' people about where the line is drawn? I haven't followed this debate much, but from my perspective it seems like people are just put into two groups as if the answer is either yes or no, but surely no-one is advocating for abortion rights at 8 months unless the mom's life is on the line, right?

  • What a certain stock does within days of a big announcement like this is one of the most meaningless things to write news articles about. In a month, the value is usually back to where it was, and that’s what nobody ever writes about.

A few months ago, the S&P 500 dipped, and there were countless articles about whether investors should panic. Not only is it back to normal now, but it’s even higher than before.

  • I had a stalker ex-girlfriend who made me paranoid. Ever since, I’ve assumed I’m compromised after about a year, and that’s when I create a new account to start from scratch and lose the tail. I could probably make a significant amount of money by selling all those abandoned accounts with tons of karma and a legitimate comment history.

  • There's a certain group of users I tend to come across here regularly. I post a lot myself too but I also have a habit of making new account about once a year so that not all my messages are from one user. I doubt many would remember me.

  • Mind sharing a picture of your new bathroom? Matte black toilet seat is something I've yet to encounter.

Just installed a golden shower though. I'll never forgive myself for not seeing the joke there before my gf of all people pointed it out.

  • Indoor plumbing indeed is one of those things people hardly pay any attention to untill it stops working. The fact that you can just take a dump, flush and it's gone is a luxury not even kings had few hundred years back. Cities used to have raised crosswalks so that you don't have to step into a river of shit when crossing the road (granted that was mosly horse shit)
