He absolutely admits when he's wrong (as soon as he realizes anyway). I think it's part of his "no bullshit" value extending to himself.
His outbursts were always with good reason. But you don't need to belittle and scorn people to enforce values in a community. You don't need to be an ass. You're right. It was released almost at the same time as the 1st gen iPod touch, and that iPod ran the same OS as the iPhone (then named iPhone OS). I thought the iPod touch came before, it didn't. The iPod classic was significantly different from the iPhone.
