  • So I don't think you're wrong, but I also suspect you haven't had an all-beef hotdog. Like the Costco hotdog. It's a very different dog, higher quality & uniform meat. Better texture. You should give it a try!

  • A slightly humorous play on 'Roll Tide', which is what someone sarcastically comments when someone fucks their family members/incest.

....this is literally just a definition, which is what was requested, you're welcome. 🤨🙄

  • According to this, as of 2015, the cost to incarcerate a man for 1 year in Alabama was $14,780.

As we all know, costs have skyrocketed since 2015, but let's be ultra, ultra generous & say incarceration costs were a flat $10K/yr until 2014. 25 years at $10K/yr, $250K.

    Let's pretend inflation somehow never happened, 2015 - 2023, 9 years at $14,780. $133,020.

    $133,020 + $250,000 = $383,020.

Inmate at one time requested firing squad, and death is death, so let's say the bullet cost $2. You allocate an additional $4,998 for staff to perform firing squad duties, party balloons, party hats, and confetti. $5K & 5 mins....vs. 35 years & $383K++++, only to end with a more expensive & contrived execution style, more suffering, and the exact same end result. Death is death.

  • Man, that's crazy. Almost as crazy as stabbing Elizabeth Sennett to death in her home with fireplace pokers for $1000, then living another ~35 years on the taxpayer dime, and finally being executed for murdering a woman 36 years ago. ¯°_o)/¯

  • Oh, for their sanity...and it sounds like they're in an environment with cold temps that have snow...blackout curtains will also help with keeping out the cold, keeping heat in. Save on utilities.

  • Smith's "spiritual advisor", Reverend Jeff Hood...is a manipulative idiot. Not uncommon in the religious community.

"It's absolutely a terrifying thing to think that your life hangs in the balance with these guys." Incorrect, he forfeited his life back in 1988 with the murder, they're trying to finally carry out the death sentence. Nothing in 2024 is "hanging in the balance".

[Jeff Hood] requested that Alabama's Governor Kay Ivey be present in the chamber during the execution to demonstrate her confidence in its safety, but had not received a response. "We have somebody who is championing this type of execution in the governor and yet she is unwilling to get her hands dirty," No...no, Gov. Kay Ivey probably has better things to do than go out of her way to watch a man condemned to die, die. Acting like the governor of a whole-ass state needs to be brought to heel at the command of some random-ass, nobody preacher. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 Please. How insulting is that?

  • I'm just curious what a world with sales taxes instead of income tax would look like. I'm sure that the poor, and the retired, would be disproportionately impacted. But income taxes are impacting most of us, right up the ass, all the time. And what a waste of time, energy all the tax filing nonsense is. That's not fair, either, and I want to be freed from it.

  • It's not good for the car, either. Cars aren't meant to idle; cars are made to have all fluids moving & the car rolling down the road.

I treat my car to a gentle warm-up when it's cold outside; I start the car & start driving, but only 20-30 mph for the first 5-8 minutes. All the components of the car are gently being used, are slowly warming up, together. I think my car runs better for it.

  • Agreed, GoDaddy can suck an entire warehouse of cocks. It's important you know the basic context, because in a weird way this can be considered history.

This is another Trump Derangement Syndrome type post. Remember when Trump got kicked off of Twitter & other social media platforms? Conservatives & Republicans said FINE, we'll make our own social media platform! With blackjack! And hookers! Parler was born.

...but Amazon & I guess GoDaddy, too, decided after Parler was built that they wanted nothing to do with Parler. So they yanked out the infrastructure, the hosting & servers, that Parler was built on. Parler was unable to function. Liberals rejoiced & jeered, conservatives were understandably distraught.

Somehow Truth Social exists, via Mastodon & some weird-ass open source structure. Nobody cares about Truth Social, though.

Basically this post is mocking the Republicans, conservatives for feeble attempts to grassroots build an internet presence. And not having robust contingency plans in place, and owning every step of the process, to ensure it could not be disrupted or fucked with.

  • There are a few things to note: burr vs blade. You do not want a blade, because as others have said, the key to the grind is consistency of granules. Coffee ground too fine tends to over-extract, be bitter, and even clog equipment. Coffee ground too coarsely will under-extract, taste kinda earthy & "bleh", and it's a waste of bean.

The two best electric burr models on the budget side of things, AFAIK, is the the Capresso Infinity & the Baratza Encore.

The Capresso Infinity is the cheapest quality burr grinder you can get; it is gentle & slow grinding. Very consistent. Unit size is small, which is nice.

The Baratza Encore is SUCH a capable grinder. Very well known. It's got a nice "heft" to it, so it stays put while grinding. I had a very oily bean that I sent through the Encore, so much that it choked & stopped up. I carefully cleaned it all out & it works just fine. What a champion!! Unlike the Capresso Infinity, it can crank out a more than acceptable espresso-level fine grind.

Between capability & reliability, the Baratza Encore wins my endorsement. If you don't care about espresso & you just want a good machine without spending all the money, then & only then would I recommend Capresso Infinity.
