  • Plex with Apple TVs. This requires a lot of transcoding but I have dedicated hardware.

I've tried many alternatives over many years but they all eventually annoy me. I've been doing this long enough to know eventually something better than Plex will come along but that day has yet to come.

I don't have any streaming services. They are all terrible and I prefer to put that money towards more hardware, mostly hard drives since my library is of the data hoarding style, ever increasing.

My setup is entirely automated via various watch lists.

IMDb watch lists and Plex watchlists as well as various lists setup to retrieve based on cast / director involvement that feed into Radarr and Sonarr allow titles to be added from my phone.

The added benefit of a my automation setup is that I can lose a hard drive and the system will self heal.

  • I can't help but get the feeling I'm conversing with a real dumb fuck when they get caught up in the example and refuse to acknowledge the premise.

Normally I'm wouldn't call out dumb-fuckery but your response was overtly aggressive while mine was not.

Unless you're highly offended by my claim that neither of us are lawyers. I assume I am correct in assessing your status as a lawyer since you manipulated my claim to be against your entire knowledge which is how those weak in logic tend to react.

  • I am not a lawyer but neither are you. Civil cases can have more than a monetary penalty, they can also have orders requiring or restricting actions.

For example: divorce is a civil matter and can have orders that prevent one of the parties to not to do specific actions such as take the kids and leave the country.

Therefore, it seems entirely reasonable for a civil penalty to result in an order forbidding holding a public office.

  • I don't think you understand how someone takes a company private such as Musk.

No company is going to agree to a buyout lower than the trading pricing. The shareholders would reject the offer.

Even if we pick the $40 value for the public price, musk has erased over 60% of the value.

Do you understand the math behind your devil advocacy? Because from where I sit your argument can be summed up as: "well acktually it only dropped 60%" --- except that's not true. The people who backed Musks buyout lost the full 77% -- they can't go to their shareholders and claimed, "well actually we overpaid so we really only lost..." because that's not how any of this works.

  • Twitter was trading around $40 at the time he made the offer for $54 per share. At the current value, that equals $15 per share. The last time Twitter was trading at that value was 2017.

These are all rough numbers based on some graphs I looked over quickly.

If you want to play devils advocate on this topic you should understand what you're talking about.

  • There is no one way that works for everyone.

You have to release the emotion.

Try taking a deep breath exhale the emotion. Try with or without a mantra such as "it doesn't matter" or "this doesn't define me"

Try the above when you are already in a relaxed mental state where your allow your breathe to return you to the relaxed mental state.

This is basically meditative / mindfulness.

Allow yourself to feel the emotion but while controlling when you allow the feeling to enter you mind which also requires allowing yourself to releasing it.

When you find something that works through practice, even if it helps in the slightest of way, repeat the process whenever the intrusive thought occurs.

I suggest deep breathes because they are easy to sneak into any situation. But other options might include making a fist and releasing it, basically anything where you can control the tension.

  • 20k doesn't get you a new car.

That grand it costs them is added to your balance.

You clearly do not carry any student debt.

Your advice is no more useful than someone suggesting those who have student loans consume less avocado toast.

  • Buy cars with cash? Having 20k in cash to drop on a car isn't something your average student loan holder is going to experience.

And the loan services most certainly have the resources to take you to court. They will garnish your wages. Seize your tax refunds. These are boiler plate actions for these guys.

Do you even have student loan debt?
