  • Behind the scenes, the company was quietly funding and purchasing game studios, with the apparent intent of producing games it could integrate on its own blockchain platform.

How many is unclear. When asked what game studios it has purchased, Forte's spokesperson confirmed its purchases of Rumble Games and Phoenix Labs, but said the company "hasn't been announcing investments and partnerships for some time now, but more news will be coming from Forte soon."

This secrecy does not appear to break any laws. KUSK Law partner Don McGowan, former general counsel at Bungie and chief legal officer at The Pokémon Company, told Game Developer that there's nothing illegal about keeping these purchases a secret, but that it is "fucking weird."

    Forte Labs is super sketch.

  • What Harris’ campaign had thought was one of its best insurance possibilities may also be in peril. Just a few weeks ago, several Harris advisers in interviews pointed to the combination of electoral votes from North Carolina and Nevada as a strong alternative path for Harris should Trump win Pennsylvania and claim its 19 electoral votes.

TL;DR - Harris campaign worries that their backup plan may be less than certain. No real story here except the media sowing doubt.

  • To add: "almost working" is still "not working" but with extra hope. There's no easy solution for "almost working" because if there was, the people would have made that easy fix to get it working. No, "almost working" is code for "we fucked around with it a lot and don't know how to get it working or how to start over."

  • You clearly have never fought and don't know that supply lines and order are crucial to war. If combat devolved into some inhumane, amoral tragedy for every interaction, nothing would be accomplished. But war is about forcibly stopping an opponent, not about going crazy and ignoring all sense or rules. Chemical weapons require an insane amount of discipline to make, move, store, use, and dispose of some of the most dangerous ordinance imaginable.

"War is lawless" is what the naive say. Experience knows better.

  • I recall reading the Magic Mouse was deliberately charged in a way that would prevent it from ever being used when it had a cord, to keep the image of Mac products being wireless and minimalist was still a thing. It could fix the ridicule if it had wireless charging via mousepad charger.
