  • I listened to a podcast basically saying once you're really smart, it's likely your life just really sucks. Of course there are a handful of people who are wildly successful, but most high IQ people just feel like nothing in the world was built for them. Basically the father out on the bell curve you are, the less the world is made for you to function happily in, whether your IQ is 60 or 140. If you want to be smart and happy, a doctor or lawyer or whatever, 125 is the sweet spot. 140 is depression.

  • I love water, easily my most preferred beverage; I'll choose water even if my meal comes with a drink. But it makes me sick in the middle of the night or in the morning. I don't get it. It makes me nauseous. If I cut the water with juice or I drink coffee it's fine. If I wait until like 11:40 am, it's fine. But if I wake up parched at 4 am and I chug water like I want to, I'll feel sick. If I drink half a glass before breakfast? Sick. OJ? Fine any time. Coffee, apple juice, 2/3 apple juice with 1/3 water? All fine. What's wrong with me?

  • Did you read what I said? That it's legal federally if it's below a certain volume per weight. And the mints are. I'm not suggesting you get high, I'm saying legally obtained mints to microdose THC from hemp has been very helpful for managing my ADHD.

It kind of reads like you don't want help you just want to confirm there's no way you can get help so you don't feel bad about your ADHD making you unproductive. Well you shouldn't feel bad either way. We're all just out here doing our best, you included. Good luck, man.

  • You say states so I assume USA, you can get THC mailed to you totally legally as long as it's below a certain amount per volume.

I just started microdosing THC and CBD (2.5mg each a day) and it's really helping with my productivity! I buy online from a shop called Mr. Moxeys or something like that, they ship mints or gummies to most US states to microdose. Kind of expensive (87 cents a day) but WAY cheaper than Adderall, and less dangerous.

  • I put a little string of fake pearls on my daughter about every day, and they were mine and my sisters' when I was a toddler, so they're about 30. I don't know how they've survived so many toddlers cause they'd break with any real pulling. She loves them though and is very careful with them. She also uses tiny baby sized silverware from my mom's babyhood(early 70s) It's cute and funny to watch her use miniature stuff that's just her size

I think that's the oldest thing other than furniture (we use my great grandfather's bedroom suite)

  • Y'all are crazy. Very responsible. I drop my phone every single day. Often outside onto the concrete. I break my screen protectors all the time. I've only ever messed up an actual screen once (stupid like wrap around screen so the case was not sufficient). I buy extremely cheap cases and screen protectors, and they always work.

I'm clumsy, but also I guess thoughtless. I'm constantly bending over to pick up my kid and it just tumbles out of my pockets. Idk. The screen protectors last between one week and 6 months. Usually a couple of months, but then the cracks/chips are so little I just take ages to replace it, so I'm only buying one like twice a year. You can get 3 for under 10 bucks so it's basically worth the cost to not have to be precious about your phone all the time.

  • A parent shouldn't be letting their single digit aged child have unsupervised access to the Internet. Agreed that they shouldn't be publicizing it, but this idea that parents should be letting their kids have secrets when they're so little is one way dangerous adults take advantage of kids.

  • It could be that the O OP had the tiny kitchen photo first like their sister texted them 'look wtf is on this old game box" and then they just Googled the second larger photo of a game box for context

  • That's not a great take.

Children are people, don't make them wear diapers! They can pee anywhere they want!

Children are people! Don't limit their screen time! If you just give them plenty of toys, they will be capable of limiting their own screen time!

Children are people! They are resilient! Let them watch R-rated films and have unfettered access to the Internet!

No one is talking about putting a leash on an eight year old. We're talking about letting a 14 month old get to experience the privilege of walking in a public place rather than being trapped on Mom's hip or in a stroller.

  • Yeah, I'm a normie, I'm tech literate adjacent-adjacent, by which I mean I'm here on lemmy rather than Facebook, but no. Me and my peers are not pressing ctrl anything. I don't even know what gui means. Something user interface? I'm not proud to be this dumb, but I'm pretty sure most "regular" people are in this boat with me. I was the third most tech literate person in my entire office last year with a bunch of millennials simply because I was willing to Google things.
