  • Oh I thought it was just a couple random people getting squicky about trans ladies using the ladies room? So you admit that it's an organized effort. I don't think I've ever seen someone move their goalposts in the wrong direction before lmao

Outlawing gender affirming medical care has zero impact on sports, you willful liar. No, the truth is that the people behind this movement are targeting trans people because they're the most convenient vulnerable group to rally hateful bigots around right now. Gay people are acceptable, the dog caught the car on the abortion "debate," and they need a new boogeyman to leverage to whip votes

  • There only being that one playbook is the exact reason why I have a patch on my backpack that reads: "Evil is boring"

  • Having your literal survival threatened has a way of focusing the attention. We're already reaching the point where people can't afford the bread and circuses.

  • He followed Glenn Greenwald down the "I feel like people don't respect my leftism enough, so I'm gonna join the alt-right" path

  • Well, I guess at least you're just a bigot and not also a hypocrite.

  • The secret ingredient is ✨🌈 misogyny ✨🌈

  • Stop lying. The massive, coordinated effort to outlaw gender affirming medical care is so much more than "a couple people feel squicky about trans ladies using the ladies room."

benefits and protections generally reserved for females

    Omfg, please leave right now

  • Oof, yeah. It'll be time to break out my N95s again

  • Herd animals gonna herd animal ¯(ツ)

  • Agreed wholeheartedly. That said, Oppenheimer is officially the only biopic I've ever watched twice and will definitely watch again someday. Which makes it my favorite biopic, for whatever that is worth about a genre that I loathe.

  • They're game devs, not an acquisition and mergers team. "We signed contract to do business with xyz terms" should be plenty reliable enough for conducting business. Not "Lol, whut? You didn't read the fine print? Psyche! We're changing everything."

Unity deserve to get sued into oblivion for this

  • People also tend to be more hesitant to hurt women, especially elderly women. And CPR done properly HURTS. A LOT.

"Benevolent" sexism is still harmful to women.

  • Does this person think working shifts are just magic? You show up at 4am on a Saturday unscheduled and they just pay you with no complaint? People just get as much unauthorized overtime as they want?

I understand that's not the kind of work he's suggesting, but it is the kind of work that the vast majority of us do. Stop trying to normalize the hustle. We need to go back to RESPECT for the 9-5 working person and pay them enough to have comfortable lives

  • I don't know that it's better; just pointing out that it is kind of how the country works right now. Around 10% of their entire population works overseas at any given time. And those higher paid workers like nurses can bring a lot of value to their families back home.

Is it right? Is it a good idea? I can't speak to that. But the country has developed an entire administration to deal with it:

(I work with a lot of Filipino nurses who have explained some of this mentality to me.)

  • News @lemmy.world

In Tuesday's special election, Ohioans overwhelmingly voted against requiring a supermajority to amend their state constitution
