  • I find that most people I talk to had positive opinions of the late queen, but as you said are apathetic towards Charles at best and disturbed by Andrew. Prince William seems to be highly regarded though.

  • When I first started my job, I was really anxious about being seen as "slacking off" whenever there was downtime (which is pretty frequent and can range from 10 minutes to two hours). That made it pretty exhausting, which in turn fed the anxiety because "how can doing nothing wear you out?"

Luckily my colleagues and leads were great people and helped me get more comfortable with it, and I'm really grateful for that.

  • I tend to find it's the other way around. Once you've got a scarf modelled and rigged, it'll work* for all animations, but for animated 2D sprites you have a lot more things to do.

May have visual artifacts like clipping

  • No they're wrong in mathematics too. -52 is -25, but -52 is not the same as x^2 where x= -5. No brackets needed on x.

  • Of course nothing should be inflexible, but I'm just saying there's no reason for every campaign to be derailed completely. If your players are actively going against the scenario something's gone wrong. And yeah, if you give them the opportunity to do something, be prepared for it to happen and roll with the consequences.

Unless you play low level John Does every time, characters should know stuff about the world they've lived in their whole lives. And if none of that ties into the scenario are you playing a campaign or in a sandbox?

  • If everyone's on the same page and wanting to play out a story, seeing how your characters and world changes in response to things not playing out as expected is part of the fun. It should never truly derail unless someone is trying intentionally to, in which case you need to talk about it. Or you got complacent and dangled a campaign altering thing too close for them to resist...

  • I can't imagine how infuriating that must be. How do you live with it?

  • I have extremely sensitive hearing. I can tell when there's an animal scarer nearby, but

This brings me to Microsoft Teams. You might have seen people mention that their dogs know when someone joins the call before they do. That's because they introduced "ultrasonic howling" to detect if they're in the same room as you, and mutes their mic.

It hurts like fucking hell with headphones on.

  • I can still hear the Stevegulls... Scene partner was a mistake!

  • I am coping hard for a Kid Icarus: Uprising remake using this. We know Sakurai has been working on something, and I'd hate for it to just be a new smash.

  • They don't need to have an even share of the available space. Give more to the side that needs it.

  • Yep! Specifically Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, remakes of the generation 3 games. It introduced "Primal" forms of the legendaries Groundon and Kyogre which is what you see in the image. It's supposed to be them at their peak power.

  • Windows users could boot into safe mode and modify/delete the problem file. There just wasn't any tool to roll out this fix 'automatically'.

Once IT dealt with it I stopped paying attention to the situation, but I wonder if any tool was created to help the poor souls managing thousands of PCs?

  • I love playing "will the train be cancelled today?" every morning. Luckily covid's WFH revolution means I have a plan b, but for people who have to go in every day... I pity them.

  • Of all the reasons to hate these messaging apps, it's because messages last forever? I'd get it if you were concerned that private companies don't really delete your messages, but you know the average person using these apps actually does want their messages to last?

  • Nope. The models have stayed the same from X&Y to Sword and Shield. Only in Scarlet and Violet have they been given an upgrade.

  • Is it confidence among buyers, or confidence among sellers? Don't try and make it sound like we're happy to be paying tens of thousands more!

  • Man I love Sun Haven! I definitely feel more involved in tending to my crops by using magic than setting up a sprinkler system. Co-op made for a really cute time.

Part of me wished the story was a little bit more than just an excuse to get you new farms but wouldn't want to ruin the tone haha.

  • Game mechanics can be patented. It's stupid, but things such as "loading screen mini games" and "overhead arrows pointing to your objective" have been patented. The second I believe even got enforced once.

I think these kind of things have been getting approved less and less, but I wouldn't be surprised if "balls that contain monsters" was patented back in the early days too.

  • Don't forget about moderation. It's all fun and games until someone starts posting hate speech, copyrighted material, porn (legal or otherwise) or worse...
