  • It's a small platform that costs a lot to run. Attempting to provide a fair and ethical alternative to YouTube.

Don't use the service unless you're going to support it.

  • I'm not a fan of backup cams. But judging by how many people are, they should absolutely be included in every vehicle.

  • Look, I'm not the target market for this anyway, and I know that. But I won't ever buy another car that doesn't have both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Especially now that head units aren't so simple to replace.

Like, no matter how good your software is when you release it, you're not going to have the same level of support, frequency of updates, timelines of new feature releases, and actual hardware upgrades (via my phone) I'd get from you having AA or CarPlay.

Both AA and CarPlay have gotten pretty damn good in the last few years too.

I drive a 2008 Mustang and I finally replaced my head unit a couple years ago with the Sony XAV-AX5000 and it was the best upgrade I could've possibly made to my car. I was really feeling like getting something new because I wanted modern convenience and this $350 upgrade gave me the luxury of perpetually being up to date. The only downside is that it doesn't have wireless AA, but hardly anything does.

And no, I'm not good with having just one. My last several phones have been Pixels, but my GF and my Best Friend have iPhones. I need to be able to do both seamlessly. Plus, I don't want my car locking me in to a phone OS. If apple releases an iPhone with USB-C, AoD, side loading (all of which should be in the next phone), add better UI scaling options, and they fix the back gesture, I'll want to switch and I don't want my car to keep me from doing that.

  • Yeah, if my car was beyond repair tomorrow and I needed a new one, I'd be getting either a Hyundai Ioniq 6 or a Silverado EV. A few years ago, I would've been leaning toward the Model 3.

  • Here's a good guide, t's old, but nothing should be too different.

Use radar instead of Couch Potato.

You can find up to date guides for any of the individual products.

    I recommend NZBgeek's lifetime subscription.

Then, set torrents as your news group's backup and you should be good to go.

Spend an evening setting this up and you'll be golden. Just subscribe to any shows or movies you want and it will automatically download them when they are available.

You can set preferences around quality, file size, language, format, etc

  • It's safer, faster, more reliable, and much easier to automate.

I only paid $20 for a lifetime subscription.

  • Stop using torrents and start using newsgroups.

  • Yeah, the Kaylon stuff with Isaac caught me off guard and blew me away.

I appreciate that they gave our characters more personal stakes in Teleya's relationship with Ed and Isaac's relationship with Claire.

  • Thanks for the info, but that's incredibly disappointing. Ted is probably my least favorite thing Seth has ever done...

  • The Philbrook is great, and there are a couple smaller, local galleries that are really great too.

The Gilcrease, Aha, Woody Guthrie Center, Sherwin Miller, Greenwood Rising, and the Discovery Lab are solid.

Lovetts and MA Doran are great showcases.

  • Well said. Funny though, I almost didn't download the game because it had SO many issues in Early Access and I didn't get a chance to enjoy it. Glad I listened to everyone else's praise this last week.

  • No. I used to use Sync for reddit back in the day when there weren't better options. I've just moved to apps that have more functionality and more convenient gestures/UI like Boost.

As for Lemmy, I tried Sync because I assumed it would be better than the initial lemmy offerings, and found it wasn't much improved from the early days of reddit sync and was lacking options and polish compared to apps like Thunder.

Not sure why you need to be condescending, trying to defend some app just because I said it was clunky.

  • I never said it was bad.

I just don't get why people would use it over alternatives that have more features, are more stable, are free, and don't include ads...

  • I just don't get the love for Sync. It was the best reddit app on Android like 10 years ago, but so many other apps surpassed it a while ago. Boost was smoother and had more options. As for iOS, Alien Blue and then Apollo were much better.

With lemmy, you've got great apps like memmy and Thunder that are imo better than Sync.

So you're dealing with ads (or paying for closed source software) just to use a worse product that kinda goes against the FOSS philosophy Lemmy is built on.

  • Of all the people to pirate from, Floatplane shouldn't be one of them...

  • It was the best Trek we had in ages. Held me over until we got SNW and Lower Deck.

I really hope we get another season because they REALLY hit their stride last season.
