  • That would involved buying/downloading the game first to find out though (which would defeat the purpose of avoiding Unity in the first place). Out of curiosity I checked some of the games on my Steam wishlist to see if Steam had the engine listed anywhere, and unfortunately they don't. A few had it under the fine print copyright section under System Requirements, but not all. Because of this whole thing, it would be nice if Steam would include that as well, like in the sidebar where they list the developer and publisher. I can't speak for other pc storefronts though.

  • Still working on seasonal stuff for Diablo 4. I got all my world bosses done, now I'm just trying to level up for the rest of it. I got a weekly game plan for myself, so I think I might finish it before the season end on Oct 17.

In the meantime I've been replaying (again) 2015's Mad Max. I've had a lot of irl stuff going on that sucks and it's been very cathartic to play. Just drive around and punch mutherfuckers? Hell yeah.

Been thinking about picking up Gungrave G.O.R.E since it's on Xbox Game Pass. There's an anime that goes with it I guess? Nobody I've talked to know a lot about it, so I think that might be my next game to play just for the hell of it.

  • not enough paint drip/smear

  • I have a Note 8, they've now had it for a while where you can single tap to open an app or run a command. But if you choose to do that, double press opens Bixby. So sadly you get Bixby no matter what.

  • I second this one. It's pretty straight forward, and just as the name suggests, is filled with jumpscares.

  • I've only played through it twice, but iirc Detroit: Become Human is like this. Even if you have a main, playable character die, the story just keeps going, and there a good amount of paths to take depending on the choices (and QTEs, bleh) that you make for the characters. On my second playthrough, I may or may not have repeatedly and purposely got a character killed just to see how much it would affect an certain NPC. 😬

  • It's a few years old, but I've been working on getting 100% achievements in Conarium over the weekend. I'm always a sucker for a Lovecraftian game, and it's one of the more visually interesting walking sims that I've played. I only have two achievements left, so I'm hoping I can clear them either today or tomorrow. I need more disk space for other games lmao

  • I was super addicted to Darkest Dungeon whenever I first got it. I never ended up finishing it, but I loved the art style and the community mods that are out there.

  • Maize. I had no expectations going into that game except what the brief Steam summary gave me, and I was not disappointed.

Bucket Detective. This was recommended to me by someone who said "this is the weirdest game you'll ever play", and I think they were right.

  • The developers who were famous for their walking simulators

I was just thinking, aren't these the guys who made Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs? So I had to go look up what else they've done that maybe I've played, and uh... Dear Esther. Which imo is the epitome a walking sim, even more so than A Machine, because at least that had some light puzzle solving and avoiding enemies. Dear Esther is just literally walking around and listening to dialogue. That's it.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good walking sim whenever I'm in the right mood, but based on the new trailer we just got, Bloodlines 2 is not that lol. Hell, the first one isn't even that.
Maybe they want to start branching out? If that's the case, I'm not sure that doing it with a game that a lot of people have been waiting for and that has already had... productions issues is not the best approach. Maybe I'll be proved wrong. I kinda hope so, considering how much I love the first Bloodlines.

  • Oh, that's good to know. I guess I'll have to take a closer look next time I hop on.

  • insert ahshitherewegoagain.gif

  • Diablo 4. I've been trying to push to get the season objectives done. Right now it's basically sitting around and waiting for the world bosses to show up every six or so hours.
In the meantime I've been running around in the remastered version of Quake. I'm kinda bummed id Software didn't also remaster Scourge of Armagon or Dissolution of Eternity. Still gotta use GZDoom to properly play those.

  • I love the Mad Max game so much. I've been thinking about replaying it (again) myself.

  • My question is, what exactly do they consider 'breaking news'? These days every news story starts off with 'breaking news'. If they want to interrupt me so bad, I'll find whatever I want to watch elsewhere.

  • The Darkness was pretty decent with tutorials, except for one particular part that involved moving a giant bell out of the way. A friend of mine who was watching me play at the time finally ended up telling me how to do it, because up to that point in the game - and this is a pretty far part into it, not like towards the beginning where tutorials usually happen - this mechanic was never mentioned or used at all. Even in the sequence of moving the bell (I assume to learn the skill??? idk), there are no prompts given to tell you how. It was the only frustrating part for me in an otherwise really cool and fun game.
