@GelatinGeorge, Animals may very well show empathy, altruism and compassion, as shown in countless cases (hippos helping a young zebra cross the river full of crocodiles, a bear saving a crow from drowning in a river, elephants obviously in mourning contemplations in front of skeletons of their species, etc.). This is not the difference, it is cruelty against one's own or other species for pure fun and even sport, this is properly human behavior.
@GelatinGeorge@Sheeple, a crocodile chokes you before eating you, a big cat, a lion, suffocates you or breaks your neck, before eating, a hyena begins to eat your guts even though you are still alive, you die while he eats you. Is this more cruel? No, he lives in a pack where everyone is hungry and wants to eat right away, they don't have time to kill you first.
Cruelty is a purely human concept.
@Sheeple@AllonzeeLV, Human cruelty and stupidity is what differentiates us from animals, apart from the iPhone.
Animals only act in accordance with survival in their corresponding environment. In nature there is no evil, only the motto: Survive as you can or know how, or die.
@Interstellar1@Thev, agree, I've used in the past Kubuntu along with Windows in Dual boot and in all the years I only needed the command line 2 times. In current Linux, at least in many distros, the command line is less and less necessary.
@ijeff, the one I use most is this one right in the browser, it save locally by default in Html (also PDF and Text) and you can copy a webpage in it without loosing the UI and links. Works also great in mobile and as PWA.
@robinn2@Sprinklebump, it is because it is so easy to deceive people with labels, be it socialism, communism or democracy. All of them have been or are dictatorships ruled by an elite. It does not matter a "communism" where an elite of supposed representatives governs or a democracy where these representatives of lobbies govern instead of the people.
A country where there is no sovereignty of the people is still a feudal dictatorship of capital, that sooner or later always fails.
@kylemsguy@pizzahoe@catfish@frostwhitewolf@CorruptBuddha@legion02,It sure is a bug if the system wakes up without user intervention, this shouldn't happen.
But I think that the cause is that some service remains active, this would explain that the system wakes up but also the heating.
Therefore, while MS does not fix this, it would be advisable to shut down the system to avoid this. This, if you use an SSD is not such a big difference to boot it.
@kylemsguy@pizzahoe@mechoman444@catfish@frostwhitewolf@CorruptBuddha@legion02, maybe, it is clear that the standby power is very low, depending on the active modules, and that it does not need much cooling.
Although in a closed space with the ventilation slits covered, it is possible that heat can accumulate. Normally for the laptop to wake up from standby requires a clear intervention, such as pressing a key or opening the screen, not very likely when in a case
@Andrew155, On the Go are also if i'm in a social network and need to explain something quickly with an image without the need to open some heavy editors from the disk, but right in the browser, eg in Vivaldi in splitscreen in few seconds.
@Andrew155, for this I already have Krita, Gimp and some others. MiniPaint is to be used on the go, while I'm browsing, being able to open it in a new tab or even in the WebPanel, that is, when I'm obviously online.
@legion02, Yes, this confuses many that turning it off with the default power button enters a Quick Start modus, well this, in Stanby. Normally nothing happens, apart from continuing to drain battery life and naturally it can get hot if put in a bag.
This currently with an SSD does not make much sense, since there is not much difference between Cold Start and Quick Start, same as I always desactivate Hibernation and Index service, 2 of the worst Memory hogs. Index also not needed with an SSD.
