  • If your conclusion is “non voters are just stupid” without examining what in their lives led to them feeling like their vote won’t matter or count (with reason, in some cases) you’re not really doing anything other than venting about losing.

We don’t only live in a nation that is heavily propagandized and with a suppressed vote when Republicans have the presidency, that’s true all the time. Until we fix that and other issues with our political system, a portion of voters won’t be able to be (or have a reason to be) engaged.

  • Damn, it’s too bad the average citizen is who participates in elections and not only political masterminds. I guess nobody could have known to account for that.

  • Wow, I can’t believe people weren’t more motivated to vote for “nothing will change no matter who wins.” Truly nobody could have foreseen and warned of this.

  • The planned order follows years of campaign promises from Trump to abolish the federal Education Department, which was established in 1979, during President Jimmy Carter's administration.

Oops, mixed that up with the federal Education Department. Thanks for the correction!

  • I think they pretty clearly wanted the Democratic party to stop arming Israel, which did not happen, and probably wouldn't have happened if they were elected, either, given they made no promises on it and gave no real indications of course correction.

This is like if the guy on watch duty on the Titanic spent a year screaming about how they're heading directly for an iceberg, the captain did nothing, and then got mad at the guy on watch when the iceberg sank the ship.

  • I had no idea the DOE federal Education Department was that recently created. Having grown up in a deep red state I feel like a veil was suddenly lifted from me, and now I can see how even more fucked up my older relatives’ education must have been compared to mine (already pretty fucked up!).

  • I think it’s from 30 Rock (TV series).

  • In California (and probably other states, but I know here for sure) they have “Spanish for Spanish speakers” classes in addition to regular Spanish classes, presumably so people can’t do that, lol.

  • Oh well if you put it that way I guess it’s knitting

  • People say this every time, and it’s still not true, because the Romans didn’t knit. Knitting is a technology and it hadn’t made it to Rome at the time these were made.

Also, some were solid and unsuitable for knitting. And they were found with giant piles of money, which is a weird place to keep your domestic tools.

  • You have no post history, so I guess you never shared them here. If it’s so easy to do and low effort maybe you could contribute.

  • The internet version of “the intelligence of the dumbest humans and the smartest bears overlaps significantly” trash can problem?

  • The Environmental Worker’s Group gives regular Dawn an A-B rating (depending on scent) and a C rating for the foaming stuff, so it wouldn’t surprise me if you’re right. Probably not a huge issue with home use, but if you’re a dishwasher for a decade using it, who knows.

  • If it is that’s news to me, I thought they were two different services.

  • Better you wading through the muck than me. If you find something while mud larking, might as well show it off.

  • You still get the image, but that explains why they’ve always been concave for me 😂

  • If all they ever told you was to relax your eyes then it's not surprising they don't work for you, that's not very helpful! Feel free to skip the rest of this if you don't want advice on how to get them to work.

For me, the best way to get them to work is to cross my eyes and let my gaze drift out of focus. When I was a kid I read a tip in a book to press your nose up to the book, look at the picture, and keep them in that position as you pull away. That works well for me too if I'm having trouble doing it on my own.
