  • I think you're trying to lead them on too much.

Obviously, you want to see chaos, explosions, fire, and mayhem. Of course you do, so do I, and if its in the process of destroying a fascist foreign interloper who somehow gets a pass for being an illegal immigrant from this joke of an administration, then all the better.

Bury the lede a bit. Let them think they came to that conclusion.

People don't like being overtly manipulated. Covertly is a different matter.

  • Some wrinkles, some grays... Well, a lot of grays in the beard.

I got a genetic double whammy. Baldness on my mom's side, and my dad (and his father and brother) were gray by 25.

That being said, I blame it mostly on a certain group of people I can't seem to escape.

They make my life more difficult at every turn.

Their mere existence is guaranteed to give me a head ache down the line.

Of course I'm talking about youthoughtthiswasgoingtoberacist end users.

  • Anybody have a pic of the underside of a Cybertruck? Need to scope out a place with airflow but limited visibility.

There is at least one asshole in my general area who needs a come-uppance.

  • I felt that way about CyberPunk 2077 and CDPR.

CDPR hadn't let me down. Yet. Ultimately, they redeemed themselves, sure, but at launch.... whew, there were issues.

Game companies CAN redeem themselves. Business wise though? Its hard to recoup that kind of shaken faith in investors, board members, etc; let alone the people you're actually trying to sell to.

There are so MANY fucking games out there these days, that I'll look at something new, and decide I don't like certain elements of the gameplay, and just move on.

If a feature looks more frustrating than fun? I'm good, thanks.

I've played hard games on the hardest setting for the challenge. I've also played "easy" just to get drunk and enjoy a story.

If it isn't fun though? Then what am I doing here?

I already spend 8+ hours a day on the computer and hate it, but at least they pay me.

  • Reminds me of a boss I had.

He seemed almost proud that he has never met his grandchildren, because his own children hate him so much that after they left the house, they cut contact.

Yet all he talked about was how family was the most important thing, and that if your family needs anything.... yada yada, I caught hell for trying to support my wife when her father died. Fucking hypocrite.

  • Baldness can either cripple you, or make a man of you.

Once you accept it. Rock it. Own it... well, IT at least doubles in size, results may vary.

I will not be taking questions, please refer to the Mr. Sins. If he is not available, Sir Stewart will happy to demonstrate on your mother.

  • Texan here as well.

Yes, the sex education that was provided was horrible, probably still is.

Thankfully, between the internet and other sources of factual information, most of us figured it out. Most.

That being said, there were quite a few girls who left our campus for a long duration, and some for a shorter duration.

Well, I was in a networking class and me and my friends were poking around the network.

Now, what we did was in no way shape or form hacking.

We navigated to the nurse's computer, labeled for convenience, and started poking around. Open access to it. HIPPA information, etc.

Anyways, the girls who left for a long time got knocked up, had a baby etc.

The short timers were usually a combination of suspension and some STD.

We missed the next period reporting the security concern to administration.

We did not mention we were responsible for the network outage the previous month; but if a batch file placed in the autostart of a few computers can bring the school down, they deserved it. We just wanted to cause some chaos and blow off a day where we all had classes in computer labs.

  • Check out Cocteau Twins, they surely aren't everyone's cup of tea, but the vocalist has a lot of "lyrics" that aren't actual words, but are used for their tone and percussive effects and shit, basically exploring what the mouth can do as an instrument without relying on language.

I found them on some gothy playlist some years ago, wikipedia says they were the progenitors of shoe gaze, but I'm not sure what that entails but it might help others.

  • I decided to be a smartass once and made a 63 character long password.

It wasn't too bad at a keyboard, though if you make a type you're screwed.

Trying to use my AD account to access admin tools on printer? I got it fixed, and immediately changed my password, lol.

  • Oof

    Jump
  • Except, no?

Medieval peasants had SOOO many holidays.

It was a cheap way to keep them from violently revolting. Even then, it didn't always work.

Speaking of violent revolt against an oppressive system, where are we at?

  • Had a coworker who decided during his shift that he was going to buy "that" TV that he pointed at.

Of course he did not have the funds to do so.

So he went to the payday loan place in the parking lot.

He didn't last long at that job. Wonder if he ever paid that off...

  • I worked at an elementary school (public) in a very red state.

I had been overhauling the library computers (I was IT) all day and had been chatting with the librarian. Cool chick, probably 10 years older than me, so late 30s. I was dating my wife at the time, so I wasn't looking to date, but got invited out for drinks with other librarians from the district.

After a few rounds, the topic turned to censorship, book bans, etc.

Every single one of them, from the churchy prim and proper lady, to the more alternative types, we against banning books and discussed how to get the kids access and and encourage them to read them, without losing their jobs.

I had to shutdown their plan to distribute cheap flash drives with banned material on them a la guerilla distribution - ie, leave it where kids would find them.

And that is why next week Mr. Case's cyber security BS thing was about how we don't plug random shit we find in to computers.
