  • Oh I agree, I addressed all of that in another comment. Even used movies as an example lol.

  • It’s the same thing. I used to have a Samsung with an always on display and loved it, so I was thrilled when iPhone finally got it after I switched over.

Same deal, OLED screen, you can use it for the clock, date, weather, whatever.

  • How is ayahuasca? I love the other two, but I had a friend try it and he said he didn’t feel much besides some nausea.

  • Totally agree, I actually brought up the Steam Deck in another comment

  • I’m confused, do you think you need the sub to play Switch games? Not paying the sub doesn’t mean you have to pirate or emulate.

  • That’s my point though, movies are also considered a pretty expensive hobby. People aren’t going to theaters and piracy is sky high currently because it’s simply getting too expensive for a single movie ticket. Tickets near me, for example, are $15 minimum, with some being over $20. So for my family to go to the movies it could be $100 minimum for one movie, and god forbid anyone wants snacks.

And just like gaming, you can simply wait for every movie you want to watch to end up in the bargain bin on dvd, but imo that’s a different discussion entirely. When people talk about a hobby being expensive, they’re usually not talking about the lowest possible entry point.

I guess it would be more accurate to say that gaming and movies can be expensive, not that they inherently are. Like, you can grab a Steam Deck and solely stick to grabbing indie games during sales and ultimately not spend that much, at least relative to the alternative.

  • When a single game costs $70 I’d call it an expensive hobby.

Sure, you can buy an old gen console and only purchase old second hand games, but modern gaming is expensive.

  • I’ve never heard it anywhere on the east coast

  • …I’m so glad I don’t live in the south

  • Bussy?

  • Even if he likes men, and she knew, being told that you’re thought of as the gender you’re not isn’t something most people want. Calling a girl a dude when they identify as a girl isn’t exactly flattering.

  • There’s an npc in a Skyrim mod who wants your help to find this magic tome. When you find it they use it to turn into a woman, coming out as trans. It was super cool, I genuinely didn’t expect it.

  • They missed this, but she’s upset because he’s imagining her as a man

  • It’s messed up, right? Loads of people are hating and fear mongering Al for absolutely no reason, he’s done nothing wrong.

And to all those saying Al is going to take over the world and cost us all our jobs, Al would never do that to us!

  • I’d also throw in Justified, and Fallout. Neither is too challenging and are good shows to just enjoy.

If you’re looking for something a bit more intense you could go for Chernobyl, The Last of Us, The Boys, or House of the Dragon. I’d also recommend Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul if you missed either of those.

Some more fun defaults I go to are It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, South Park (I’d recommend starting with Season 4 if you’ve never watched it), Moral Orel, and Futurama.

I’d also recommend Legion and Wilfred if you’re looking for something a little weirder and more challenging.

  • “Can think for herself” makes me thing they’re just trolling

  • I’m… a little confused. That comment of mine has nothing to do with my comment above or the post.

The post is about people’s ignorance, and their refusal to accept that there may be anything outside of their limited perspective.

I never said that your point wasn’t valid, or was made up. I simply didn’t agree with it, and had my own opinion. My last comment to you back then literally talked about the fact that I feel terrible for those negatively impacted by this, acknowledging that it’s a real thing that affects real people.

Someone acknowledging yet disagreeing with you isn’t the same at what’s in this post, and imo does it a massive disservice, as its about a lot more than that.

    Here’s my comment for clarity:

Right now we live in a pretty puritan society, so the transitional phase is going to suck and people are going to be hurt. Obviously that’s awful, and none of this should take away from that fact, I feel horrible for the people negatively impacted by this.

And while that’s all true, it’s also true that as we continue going down this road we’ll reach a point where it simply won’t matter anymore.

The first part clearly addresses and acknowledges reality. I’m in no way dismissing it, pretending it doesn’t exist, or saying that “because I don’t experience it it isn’t real”. I fully acknowledge that it’s real and is a serious issue.

The second part is my own opinion in addition to it. It doesn’t take away from the first part, this isn’t a zero sum game, both can be true. I have my own opinion while fully acknowledging your own and seeing the validity of it.
