  • They have incredible value, actually. I'm not sure what cheaper system your thinking of, but none come anywhere close to it's general capabilities.

If you factor in the development process it might not be such a great deal. But, you're not at this point.

  • There's no equivalent jet in general. And for good reason - the requirements were insane and the development process was both massively slow and unfathomably expensive.

In the long run, you have to wonder if sensors will move to any number of alternatives to radar reflections, but word is that stealth is still pretty (war)game-breaking ATM.

It's just that the US has privileged access to all the software...

  • My sense at this point is that grotesque flattery works on Trump, but only to a point. Trump doesn't really like anyone, the best you can do is a slightly-better-than-neutral relationship. (And at the other end he's willing to coexist with anyone who hasn't personally slighted him, like Kim Jong Un)

  • No. It's all culture warriors in the Alberta Republicans right now. I don't know if I've seen much about pipelines at all from them. They prefer dogwhistling - "stand up for our values". Meanwhile, the oil industry basically owns the UCP and Danielle Smith, to the point where agriculture has kind of been pushed out.

That's also why they lost. The oil industry is popular in Alberta, as is the idea of having our cake and eating it too, when it comes to the federation. The cultural conservative stereotype of is way off, though, even for the most part in rural areas.

  • It's pretty much a symptom of having a small userbase. The most niche thing that can maintain activity isn't very niche yet. I hope and expect it will improve over time, and in the meanwhile I'd like to see the attitude to Reddit repost bots to soften.

  • So basically, nuclear-armed planes and new warheads. That's good. It was almost all on the French before. I wonder if Canada could sign on to collaborate and host UK nukes.

The F-35 thing is questionable, but lots of non-US countries depend on them and manufacture the parts (and they're great planes). In the long run I wonder if a custom ROM for the things might be in the cards, in defiance of the current agreements.

  • Everyone dreams, FYI. It's an integral part of sleeping. You just don't remember it.

It's like being awake except more entertaining things are happening. It's a window to the subconscious in the sense I can tell problems from the day appear in them, but not in a Freudian way where they mean things.

  • Shoot. Maybe someone's card is in the right order.

Destroys well-paying jobs has been a major public issue since the mechanical loom was invented in 17whatever. I like mechanical looms. I think there's varying opinion even on here about which squares are actually bad and which are just whining.

  • Dating apps and similar with insufficient moderation come to mind, or even ones that effectively paywall dickpics and harassment instead of removing it.

For gender nonconforming people, lots of forms.
