  • Everyone can agree on VLC being the best video player, right?

    cough mpv cough

  • It boggles my mind how people in power over these streaming services just don’t get it:

Oh they get it, you can be sure of that. It's just they're so, so greedy they don't care that eventually in the future the well will dry up, they only care about more money NOW.

  • This is what you see when you look in the mirror: 🤡

  • I was playing a lot of WWF No Mercy recently. Absolutely a gem of a game, it's very fun despite the wonky N64 control scheme. Kid me would've probably loved this game back in the day, but alas.

  • Yes and no. While people can read the code and potentially exploit it, the opposite is also true. Having full access to it means others can find flaws in the code you've missed and contribute improvements to it. Being closed-source can be a detriment in that regard, so much so companies often rely on external security audits and the like.

  • Gestures widely at Larian whose games are not traditional isometric CRPGs.

  • Classic Germany. Goes from Nazist to Progressive so hard they end up on the other side of the spectrum back in Fascist territory.

  • If you're already liking 3 and 4, then your head will explode whenever you decide to give New Vegas a try.

  • Merriam-Webster

the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person

    Cambridge

information, ideas, opinions, or images, often only giving one part of an argument, that are broadcast, published, or in some other way spread with the intention of influencing people's opinions

    Oxford

The systematic dissemination of information, esp. in a biased or misleading way, in order to promote a particular cause or point of view, often a political agenda. Also: information disseminated in this way; the means or media by which such ideas are disseminated. Cf. black propaganda n.

    Collins

Propaganda is information, often inaccurate information, that a political organization publishes or broadcasts in order to influence people.

Point being, even if it's not necessarily all lies how do you know you're not being lied to or mislead when most propaganda are, by definition, lies and half-truths? I don't trust any sort of propaganda because chances are I'm being lied to.

  • It's very weird indeed. Seems to be a new tracker, most uploads are recent. Don't know what to make of it.

  • Not all propaganda involves lying.

Dictionaries seem to disagree with your definition.

  • That has to be weirdest rule I've ever seen in a private tracker. Do they think they're fooling anyone?

  • Unironically Deus Ex, it's full of cookie-cutter crazy conspiracy theories and references, but it introduced me to the literary genre of Cyberpunk and it's surrounding culture back in the day. If it wasn't for it, I probably wouldn't be so critical of modern consumerism and corporate culture. It helps that a lot of the game's social commentary remains very topical twenty years later, they simply don't make games like this anymore.

  • And it's paid. Fucking worthless hack. It's a "free" software that's both paid and you're not allowed to share, why even bother using a GPL like license at that point? Just to get people to work for free on your shitty app?

  • Yeah how about no? Knowledge should be free, I'm not gonna pay 5c every time I want to open Youtube or some shit. In a utopia you'd pay some small government tax that'd go towards keeping the web ad and paywall free, so the people get happy and the greedy corporate rats get their dirty money.

  • ... Those aren't the devs or discord mods, they're literally random people that just joined their server.

    🤦

  • When South Africa accuses you of genocide, you know you fucked up.
