  • I live in Oklahoma, drive an Old Green Truck™, have a lazy dog of unknown breed, and I work in a machine shop. Last week my neighbor and I rebuilt a motorcycle engine and put it in his bike. My wife and I have chickens. I'm a pretty sterotypical "redneck".

I've voted democrat in every election since 2000.

It sounds like OP is terribly confused, and is associating people from two different groups while they really have nothing in common, which is something MAGA dipshits also do.

  • Ask anyone who's kept chickens, keeping the hawks and foxes and raccoons etc. out of them is a constant and eternal struggle.

Two things I have learned as a chicken weirdo:

    1.) Get dark colored chickens

2.) Get a big mean rooster.

I haven't lost a chicken so far, but I have seen my bigass stupidly brave rooster take on all comers, he has defeated squirrels, snakes, frogs, mice, and a gopher that was apparently pretty bad at making connections. I've watched him chase off a cat and a pretty good sized dog. Foghorn Leghorn is more accurate than I realized.

But more than his incredible dinosaur kung-fu is that he is smart, and communicates with his hens. He will tell them to shelter in the coop, and they will run and hide. A hawk isn't going to want to deal with 15 pounds of land-bird standing in a small doorway.

For the color, a black or gray chicken will be harder to see against the ground than a white one. Also, I think they look cooler than plain white chickens.

Ugh. Off to Urban Dictionary I go.

Edit: Inserting peeled ginger into the anus. Ok, I'd heard of this with horses, it's even mentioned in one of Sir Terry Pratchett's books. Id not heard of people doing it to themselves or each other but I'm not surprised."

  • I wish I could get my head around programming. I've tried learning from books, I've tried learning from codecademy, and all I can do is follow the lessons, I don't understand how I'm supposed to turn all these lines of gibberish into a program that does something. The most common bit of advice I get is "Just make up a project! Find something that you want the computer to do, it's easy and fun!" And I'm over here like... "OK, how?" It's like someone pointing to a pile of metal and a welder and saying "Build something!" Sure, someone who knows how to weld can do that, but most people are going to need more information.

  • I love the miata, especially the NA miata. I'm a sucker for pop up headlamps, and an even bigger sucker for small simple vehicles.

What I would love to see again are the small SUV's that Suzuki used to have in the US. Sidekick, Vitara, and last but not least the Samurai. They were small and easy to park, had small engines, got reasonable gas mileage, and were very capable off-road. There is a TFLtruck video on YT where a $100,000 modified Jeep is pitted against a stock Suzuki Samurai and the old sami kept up. There wasn't anywhere the jeep went that the samurai couldn't follow and it was really eye-opening. Especially for a guy who has a modified Samurai...
