  • Who benefits economically by addressing the needs of Palestinians?

Unless the answer is “us billionaires”, you have your answer for what policy will be inacted.

The answer to every “what policy will the US take” is “whichever most benefits the rich, and if multiple, whichever most benefits the rich to the exclusion of the poor”.

  • But aren’t you agreeing with the article? The USA attacked Afghanistan, which housed Usama bin Laden, who was a Saudi and was funded and supported by saudis

The Israelis are attacking Palestine, which houses hamas, which is Iranian (suspected to have Iranian members and soldiers), and is funded and supplied and intellectually descended from Iran

  • I’m usually the first to complain about character driven movies, as opposed to story driven. Usually I despise the former category.

Somehow, blade runner 2049 is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. That’s how fucking good it is.

  • If the invaded country is developed and already has similar values to my culture: copy/paste what was done with Japan and Germany. Write them a new constitution, invest in development.

Else: oh fuck I don’t know. You probably need a strong dictatorship because otherwise the people will vote for their own dictator. Force education, instill modern (yes that’s pejorative) values. 20 years later maybe they can have democracy.

  • Sometimes I see new broncos and I’m jealous, but now I have this knowledge so I don’t need to be.

Also tiny 2.7L turbo v6? Pathetic

I thought my Toyota’s 4L v6 was small, now I feel better. Some day I’ll save up and buy the TRD supercharger kit :)

  • Surviving by clinging to a job I don’t like, and taking lots of trips. Just spent 3 weeks in Europe and everything here is so much cheaper, their nice hotels are the price of our cheap ones. It’s crazy.

In any other economy I would have quit to start my own business.

  • I have so many friends who were like “yeah I knew it was fake”. Even if they did, so many of us didn’t and were scared. I was super scared. Fucking old man I hate him. Why would you wait so long to send the follow up. Awful.

  • It’s why I left academia. You aren’t rewarded for being a good scientist. You’re rewarded for being good at understanding funding trends and playing the nepotism game. Grant writing is less important than talking to program officers and having big names write letters for you, and have your readers know those names.

However I’ll say that after spending 5 years in industry, these people have no fucking idea what they’re doing and it’s hilarious. Higher quality of science in academia. But I’m getting paid now.

  • Tried it, game was too hard for me. I think it’s the kind of game that rewards you for investing a lot in it, which isn’t for me. It also didn’t really hold my hand enough. I play only a few games a year and I don’t have time to live in a games world and figure it out.

I imagine others like it for those reasons.

  • If I didn’t do this, I wouldn’t have a job

Gotta leave unfinished tasks and make frivolous jira issues so it looks like there’s a reason to keep paying me to do 2 hours of work a week
