  • Canadian version, and the one you drove sounds awful bad

  • If I have cameras.. I really don't mind supplying the footage if police ask. But I really would like that they ask. And I REALLY don't want them to have footage that they don't ask for and don't obtain a warrant for.

  • So cute and spooky! I love the ghosties!

  • Oh yes, mod tools for lemmy are hot garbage

  • My parents have a bolt and it has a gas gauge type bar, but also a range in kilometers overlayed on the bar and it takes up the entire left hand side of the dashboard. It's like an inch wide by 5 inches tall. Very easy to see and read. So they may have learned in later models that people need to see how much range they have left

  • Well I hope we can engineer better spines because it makes no sense for our brains to just finish developing a few years before our backs give out

  • A certain number of hours reached is a fairly easy metric to use and it works great for a lot of games. But let me tell you about Senua's Sacrifice.. that game is short. It was only $20 or something and 8 hours to play through. But it made me ugly cry at the ending. It was so emotionally charged I just sobbed for the girl. That was definitely worth the price.

  • the system is working! I don't know what beef admins have with instance you are from but I appreciate the .art administrations proactive stance. Usually blocks happen after they have reached out and not come to agreements about certain user behaviors.

  • I'm not sure how the entire instance is but I follow @FoxNews@brands.town from there so they can't be all that bad! Jokes aside, (though you should really check out FoxNews the #1 fox news network on Mastodon), mastodon.art is very cool and has great vibes. Where ever you end up signing up, I encourage you to find some people from .art and give them a follow to inject your timeline with the good stuff.

Tech.lgbt is a tech focused instance for people with marginalized identities. I follow a few cool peeps from that instance.

peoplemaking.games is an instance for people who work on games, whoduvthunkit. Peeps from there seem cool when they come across my feed.

That all being said with mastodon it's more important that you vibe with the admin policy than the subjects focused on by the instances. I am on .art, but I also am into urbanist stuff and bicycling (especially as a mode of transportation, not as a sport), so following hashtags like #biketooter puts that kind of stuff in my feed. My advice is to take the suggestions you get from this thread, and maybe look at a few more from your own searches, and check out the instances patreon to see how well they are doing, what kind of news updates are they posting (notes about defederating from bigots is a pretty good start there), and then choose a small to medium sized instance that seems like it will stick around for a while. Then go ahead and follow whatever topics you want.

  • I really hope not. I'd rather the business and influencer stuff stay on a platform that they can monetize and not be a force to enshittify the fediverse.

  • For coop games with dialog I really loved how Baldur's Gate 3 let everyone see the dialog choices and click on them to vote for what they would want. The player in the dialog didn't have to choose it, but they could see and it let every player feel like they were a part of every conversation instead of just watching.

  • Yes, but probably more video card focused than running the biggest epyc or xeon processors.

  • I can only imagine these are just crypto mining farms, but instead of running mining they train ai models

  • Isn't fun just defined as "a period of user base growth followed by extracting every last dollar possible in an exponential growth pattern forever and ever because that's totally possible mhm it totally is!" to them?

  • So you have probably figured it out by now but on the off chance that someone else is reading this and wonders about the bulbs not fading but instantly changing, you can set the transition speed (At least if you are using zigbee2mqtt, I am brand new at this so I haven't tried zha). It would be found in "Settings (Specific)" for each bulb. I set my bulbs to 0.25 seconds transitions and they fade very nicely! Also thank you very much for getting me started with HA! It's very neat. It's a liiiiitle jank. But it's very cool and I'm happy to not be forced into letting some other company have control over who uses my lights and who doesn't.

  • Overwatch 3 is just removing one of the supports to make it 4v4

  • omg it can't POSSIBLY get worse for Overwatch... can it? ABK execs have treated that product worse than breast milk stored in the company fridge.

  • DEFEAT

  • This looks like a win to me
