  • I'm not saying Trump isn't awful, and things aren't bad. I also clearly state democracy in USA isn't safe yet.
But Trump is failing more than he is succeeding.

I am not American, but I really hope they will work to improve democracy. The concept of a president controlling the entire administration is both awful and not representative of the population. A democracy that result in a 2 party system is only barely a democracy.

  • No it's not easy, and it's become steadily worse for half a century now. Rights are not given, they are fought for. And American rarely fight, but accept corporate offers, and fail to unionize over and over again. I'm not blaming you, I know USA is split, but when opportunities arise, American workers fail to grab them.
The problem of course starts with the fact that USA is a dysfunctional democracy. And again nothing has been done for half a century to change that.
The Democrats are better than the Republitards, but they are still part of the problem.
Grassroots need to be build to power. Maybe No Kings could be part of that?
Anyhow USA lost about half a century of progress, so now the hill is steep. Employers have taken power. But there is still power of the masses, if only enough Americans decide to fight back.

  • As long as Americans don't unionize, and can't even prevent a president Trump, it's acceptance of the status quo as a society.
I do not mean it on an individual basis. I couldn't care less whether you as an individual accepts it or not, if you haven't tried to join others that want change, you have essentially accepted it.
Accepting it, doesn't mean you can't be unhappy about it. Acceptance is all about the actions you take to help change.

  • Says the guy where every day can be a day off if he chooses it to be.
Remember when he said after Obama had been golfing, that when he became president, he wouldn't have time to go golfing. And then as president he golfed more in a month than Obama did his entire 8 year presidency!

Anyone who trusts Trump on anything he says is a moron. Most European countries have twice the non working holidays USA has, and typically 5 weeks paid holiday. In USA all the privileges are to the employer, and the stupid Americans accept it? 🤦‍♀️

  • He is probably trying just that, because it's common knowledge that a war normally has the effect that people back the current president/administration while fighting an exterior enemy.
Problem for Trump is, that he can't find a war to fight that is plausibly legitimate. Only a small minority is buying it with Iran, and he doesn't have any other options.

  • Trumps attempt at creating a fascist dictator regime is collapsing.

    1. The Military parade clearly showed he doesn't have the backup of the military.
    2. People are beginning to mass protest, and the no kings protests were way more successful than the parade.
    3. Republican politicians are becoming more reluctant in their support.
    4. Courts are often judging against him.
    5. When Trump ups the ante resistance increases.

That means Trump doesn't really control any part of the nation the way a dictator is supposed to, and his attempts to achieve it are failing.
Obviously the flawed democracy of USA is not safe yet, but if the trend continues, there is hope USA may get through this eventually.

  • The efficiency of this is amazing, instead of actually sending it up, and waiting for it to blow up, they have figured out how to blow it up on the ground BEFORE launch. This is the kind of efficiency we need in government programs.

  • “Consent is not saying no,” said Equality Minister Aurore Bergé. “It’s saying yes, an explicit yes, freely, without constraint or ambiguity.”

You have to actively express consent. This is the standard in many countries now, and it's the right standard, because a person can be too scared to resist or even say no.

  • This picture may seem shopped, in part because the cockpit seems oversized.
But you have to remember the cockpit is designed to fit American pilots.

    We hope this explains everything,

  • You are missing the point that size makes a difference. Obviously SpaceX has the technology to do what Honda did, but SpaceX can do ti with a real rocket.
But they can't do it with the bigger Starship rocket. Scale matters.

  • Can you read the article? Does the link work for you? I was not asking about the incident, I know roughly what happened.
If the link doesn't work, it is not referring to an article.

    Rule 6.

Thanks, I just found out it's location restrictions.

  • Hypothetically, we could terraform Venus.

Mars is the best option we have, which is why I mentioned that. Venus already has selfenforcing runaway global warming, and we can't even land a probe there, because the environment is extremely hostile.
Mars is by far the easier option.

  • "Russia does not care who represents Ukraine in negotiations, but insists that any final agreement must bear the signature of legitimate authorities."

No doubt Zelensky is the legitimate leader of Ukraine, but who does he imagine should sign for Russia?

But honestly Putin can piss off with his constant ridiculous preconditions. Although of course that's up to Ukraine to decide.
But I don't blame them if they just send him this response: 🖕
