OP! Please don't do this! Someone who doesn't even know how to change their TV input will definitely not survive on Linux for a long time! Also they only use their PC for very basic stuff like checking their emails. Gaming on Linux will need to work compability programs like Proton and Wine. You'll get calls from them everytime! Please just install debloated Windows 10 21H2 LSTC IOT version for them!

What distro are you using for gaming?

    Gentoo

How long have you used it?

    Nearly 2 years now

How often have you had issues that require Linux knowledge and/or searching the web to solve?

Pretty often. I often need to go to Gentoo forums for help.

Have you had any other minor/annoying complaints?

Gaming drivers are the biggest issue in Gentoo

  • It used to exist a long long time ago! It was the Club Penguin Rewritten Discord server! It was the most wholesome Discord Gaming server ever! But sadly that server was deleted shortly after Disney sent a cease and desist notice to the dev and made the UK Police arrest him when he didn't respond to that.

  • You're forgetting a lot of the original imageboards (eg. Blueboard) and calling them "hate and revenge porn subreddits" is a gross oversimplification...... eg. r/jailbait is NOT a simple revenge porn subreddit! It was a straight up you know what subreddit! It's a shame to see Redditors defend Michael Brutsch (u/violentacrez A.K.A VA A.K.A "Pimp of Reddit") as a "troll" even till this day! Apart from this, there were also a lot of disturbing subreddits during the mid '10s like r/beatingtrannies, r/beatingcripples, r/strugglefuck, r/askarapist to name the few.

  • Do you know if Tor Snowflake bridges are monitored as well?

I am not sure about this. I'll have to do some research on this.

You might want to use the proton VPN from F-Droid then.

I am not really comfortable using Proton VPN. Atleast not while I'm residing in my country. Is there no other free VPN which the privacy community wholely agrees to be safe?

  • They have a 'Guest Mode' , I don't know how long or how much data you can use with it though. Otherwise you need to signup with phone number, email, or Solana address, all of which they store.

Okay, a lot of red flags. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

You can also use Orbot, or InviziblePro (which incorporates Orbot) to use Tor on mobile.

TOR traffic is actively monitored in my country. So if I browse the internet via TOR I'll stand out. Most just use VPNs here. I'm not sure if my government is actively monitoring who's traffic goes through VPN tunnels but even if they do I can easily mingle as theres tons and tons of VPN users in my country.
