You can fix a broken bone while doing absolutely nothing to prevent the accident that caused it and that's just what happened. The accident was Trump, and he's back to break shit again.

If the midterms were held tomorrow I think the GOP would lose their majority (in at least one chamber). They need time to implement policies and rules that will either make voting harder or outright pointless (state legislators have floated the idea of straight up overriding the votes of their citizens). They have lots of time to fuck shit up, but they need that time all the same.

I wouldn't burn a copy of Mein Kampf, unless that's the only political point of view in the library. I'm sure that library had plenty of right-wing books and were much more popular.

Blue states need to do take a page from the GOP playbook and do it anyway and fight the decision up to SCOTUS. And if that fails at the Supreme Court, DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!

No matter which side, I'm glad to see someone is freed and reunited with family. War is hell no matter the side.

Where possible I think E2EE should be the default. So if you want to collaborate on documents you have to explicitly check a box that might say, "By checking this box I understand that I am opting into additional features at the cost of encryption."

I think encryption should be at the core of this project because it (1) protects the admins from some liability if/when a breach occurs and (2) the whole point of trying to get away from Google and similar hosts is to keep them from using our own data against us.

I'm pretty much gonna be out of the market (except 401k) until Trump leaves office. Even without the tariffs Trump and DOGE are gutting agency funds and staff. That's money effectively set on fire and it won't be stimulating the economy at all. Eventually that money will get diverted to the rich I'm sure but that doesn't stimulate the economy nearly as much. Or does anyone think Musk and Bezos will buy millions of steaks or iPads to make up for all the ones that won't be bought anymore because fewer people can afford them?

I mean, if he was trespassing then so were the other dozen people they ignored at the scene. ICE was sending a message, not keeping the peace.
