  • Second last day w/ hams.

Pushed him pretty hard today (twice) and now he's pulled his monkey from the toy box to hold his hand to pass out.

I've never seen a dog do that.

  • Nearing the end of looking after hambam.

Seen a big shift in behaviour over the last 3 and a bit weeks. All it took was wearing him out and giving him more off lead freedom.

I'll miss his burps and random little sleep / dream woofing throughout the night.

  • Well the punches keep rolling for the ol' girl.

Just learned yesterday big C. in the bowel. Looks like IV.

The last 8 months have been hell for her ever since that fall and now completely unrelated.. this. Pretty limited therapy when pushing 80yo. She'll be going in for an op but chemo/radio is out of the question. Working out the spread basically means just working out (guessing) how long.

    Universe can be cruel.

e: Thanks all for the kind words.

  • Well it's official.

Hambam is now confidently an off leash walker.

I have waited for this moment for a long time.

Trick was to take him to the same park several times a day so he got over being hyper stimulated / fixated. It worked. Now he doesn't give two shits about anything.. other dogs / kids. So I have upgraded his braincell count to 3, from 2.

  • yep and apparently it's not BYO which is very generous of her.

  • Blended the 1st chilli ferment last night. 13 day ferment. The one w/ homegrown apricots, raspberries. Surprisingly it's actually very good. Can taste them through the heat. Never had a hawt sauce like that. Raspberries made it a nice deep red. Was going to turn the last of chillies into powder but instead going to start anothery of that today.

I think taking the chilli seeds out before the ferment (usually don't bother) really made a difference and let the sweetness cut through. Bit time consuming but worth it.

  • What a joke right?

    Yep that's fucked.

  • His coat can be a bit much. So many things get stuck in it lol.

When brushing him he tries to groom me too at the same time too which is sort of funny and doesn't help.

He's going into another bath tomorrow. There's a love hate relationship with the bath.

  • ist ein guter computer kartoffelkรคtzchen

  • Bloody hell.

I'd definitely at the very least have someone check on you over the next few. Sometimes TBI's can be delayed.

  • or sticking it up your bum

:( There goes my w/e plans.

+1 on the half at first. Too often I've seen first timers think it's not working, take anothery and end up in eye wobble land and worry about it.

  • These dog walks are such a mixed bag.

Today's highlight was going prone in the middle of camberwell road (again) and refusing to move because he saw another dog in the distance lol. I dunno how they do it but I swear dogs can make themselves heavier when they don't want to move.

  • Told off some ticket inspectors yesterday for not helping a little ol' granny get her pusher on the tram. They were extremely combative and aggressive lol. I've seen one of them before having a real go at a young foreign lady so it felt good.

  • Good gig last night. Speaker rig was one of the more impressive ones I've heard for DnB, pretty much custom built for the genre. Pretty rare to hear it that loud with clarity which was nice.

Shitload of security though. Probably a legal requirement, but there were security dudes standing on boxes in each corner just watching the d-floor. Not really the sort of music that attracts trouble but I guess it'd make a few people feel safer.

Got home at about 1:30am to hambam sitting at the front door waiting for me with sad eyes :( Felt bad so cooked him up some mince to make it up to him.

Edit: and he's been staring at me all morning:

  • Off to a gig tonight at the croxton. 3 hand built nose bleed decibel speaker systems. Two playing in synch in one room which will be dub / reggae, another system playing DnB / jungle. Don't normally fork over $40 unless it's a DnB international but these guys spend an inordinate amount of coin and time on these things so it's worth it just to keep the scene alive.

Also hambams on his walk / run today ran into a mum and her kid (probably 3yo). He was so gentle w/ her. He might not be all there upstairs at the dog park but around the very young kids he changes and is very mindful. So credit to hams.

  • I was gonna say build a frame for it but 2.3m x 1.8m is huge lol might be an effort.
