  • That is absolutely next. Watch who the news stirs up controversy against and they will be the next target. Venezuelans are a good example of this because there were several news campaigns to tarnish them last year that are fueling the hate now.

  • Even if everything he says is true he needs to learn to treat people better and not at the expense of your time and feelings. Leave him behind, work on yourself however feels right to you and you will very likely barely remember his name a decade from now. Don't EVER settle for that sort of treatment.

  • I urge you to see beyond that. Of course there are people (influencers likely?) you're thinking about that jump on band wagons, but every movement does and they play an important part even if you don't like them. Free advertising!

  • Remember there are bots even on Lemmy to push the narrative that we have no power. Billionaires aren't scared of a couple less dollars, but they are TERRIFIED of us figuring out we can organize. Let's not fight each other let's fight the oligarchy!

  • For me I am already permanently boycotting all of these you mentioned. For others it is not that easy and takes TIME and EFFORT. Support or don't but why be against good change even if it's little bits at a time? Do you not want to see people try or join? This is the beginning point not the end.

  • What point you are missing is that these corporations are still scared we will organize. Look at how tiktok affected people's views on Gaza. You saw how fast they took control of an app as opposed to the countless problems they could actually be fixing. Getting people used to a different way of life takes time and small acts/habits.
