  • I like Organic Maps, but I am sometimes really surprised at the locations that are not on it that have been around in my city for several years. And I don’t live in a particularly small/unknown place. The routes can also be a little questionable at times, but I would say it works pretty well 90% of the time for me. Since I have small kids, I don’t depend on it if I’m at all questioning its ability to navigate me. But when I’m driving by myself I pretty much use it exclusively.

  • Love it

  • Never let them think they have plot armor!

  • Sounds like you need to have a conversation with the table!

  • I don't think it's steep at all given what you're getting and you don't need to run it forever. Additionally, all the private competitors in the space are terrible and many are all but technically scams that make the problem worse while also charging similarly.

  • Lots of Styrofoam out there we need to get rid of

  • Thought about this some more so thought I’d add a second take to more directly address your concerns.

As someone in the film industry, I am no stranger to technological change. Editing in particular has radically changed over the last 10 to 20 years. There are a lot of things I used to do manually that are now automated. Mostly what it’s done is lower the barrier to entry and speed up my job after a bit of pain learning new systems.

We’ve had auto-coloring tools since before I began and colorists are still some of the highest paid folks around. That being said, expectations have also risen. Good and bad on that one.

Point is, a lot of times these things tend to simplify/streamline lower level technical/tedious tasks and enable you to do more interesting things.

  • So many were forced but megustaperfect was amazing

  • To answer your question directly: The debate has been going on in the broader public since ChatGPT 3 dropped

To answer how you’re feeling: that’s valid, because a lot of big pockets seem to not care at all about the ethical considerations.

  • I’m still hung up on the whole “criminalizing having children” thing.

  • Station wagons and minivans were hardly compact lol

But yes many modern vehicles are ridiculous.

  • I definitely agree that some of these vehicles are ridiculous.

  • Well that’s what I get for not checking usernames lol anyway glad to see it’s not as strict as it sounded.

  • I agree that in this particular case it makes sense. But the person that responded to said that everywhere should adopt this rule.

  • Dude, come on. Are we really going to debate this?

  • Ok just so I’m not misunderstanding you, are you saying we should jail people who have kids? I feel like I’m not following the thread of your point here and I think it is very unlikely that is what you’re saying. But it’s kind of coming across that way in your comment.

  • I never said cars are the only way to move around. I’m just saying we need to think through this a little bit. I agree with the idea for the most part.

  • Large families don’t use big trucks. They use SUVs/minivans.
