I think it's a problem for consumers, especially as long as traditional PCs and laptops remain ubiquitous. I could see this changing over time as the natural way of things. There are all kinds of examples of people giving up a superior experience for the sake of cost or convenience. :-/
About 15 years ago I was going somewhere with my family. Stepmom and I were talking about Climate Change then, how if things didn’t change that massive starvation was likely, that crazed weather would be irreversible, etc. and she noticed that my 10 year old niece’s eyes were getting huge. She was genuinely disturbed by the conversation and began to say is this really going to happen? Before I could plainly reply my stepmom reassured her that no, things were going to be fine, and we changed the subject.
Niece is in mid twenties now and subject to the reality of the situation as it slowly unfolds, like an asteroid headed toward the earth at 5 mph. The future is dreadful to her.
The consequences of inaction in the late 20th and early 21st centuries will be the end of us. 😀 To hope otherwise or lament over is just wasting time. Enjoy life before it gets worse!
This was a fun comparison and reminds me of the old gaming mags with ads that showed screenshots side by side of each system for a given game. There was an ad for Batman: The Movie and I always thought I was getting screwed with only having access to the NES version...
So pirating a game that ships with Denuvo is good for consumers, and practically a moral obligation for anybody that likes video games.
I think Denuvo prevents the piracy effectively enough that consumers would need to spend their money elsewhere to prove a point. Either way, developers get screwed with potential layoffs due to poor sales.
Piracy and DRM both suck. I say buy games from devs whose publishers choose not to use DRM besides say, Steam.
If we're giving him the benefit of the doubt, he comes in early because he can't wait to get out of his house to escape his failing marriage and likes that spot because the sun is obstructed just so that his truck stays shadier than it would otherwise.
This would seem reasonable if it wasn't a parking garage. I hate to say it, but knowing him as I do I would swear on religious literature that it's on purpose.
At my place of work we've got one charging station. There's a guy who parks his truck there every morning (comes in way early for some reason). He could park anywhere, even more convenient spaces, but always chooses that spot...So if you want to charge, good luck.
I'm non-petisan--I love both dogs and cats. I work in IT, but academically trained as an artist. I'm a weirdo!
