  • That's almost the exact qoute in my clipboard, and pretty much my response.

Let’s not turn a tragic incident into a trend. Most people don’t hate CEOs. They don’t care about CEOs. They have bigger issues to care about.

They will have bigger issues to care about. the quiet part said out loud.

How can you be so oblivious? When you're the biggest issue people have, then you get to act all indignant when people deals with their issues.

  • Lol I'd hit the library on my way home in high school, get a bunch of CDs rip, return the next day and leave with a new batch... The antitheft sticker made the discs unbalanced, so I ended up RMAing my drive three times in 4 months, before the store just gave me my money back and canceled the sale.

At the time ripping library CDs was legal, so I got like 25 albums each week, 4 weeks a months and 4 months total, so about 400 albums, legally (but ethically? No) for free.

  • You're going to hate me, I used iTunes for ripping back in the windows XP days. It was the first program I met that would recognize titles and get album art. I used iTunes to manage my collection as well.

  • Had a similar phone, my gameboy was a couple of gens older, and I never played pokemon... But I remember when my friends got their ps2s and I listened to both albums on my commute yesterday... Wtf happened? 2005 was yesterday!

Where's the mini-skirt made of snake skin? And who's the other guy that's singing in Van Halen? When did reality become TV? Whatever happened to sitcoms, game shows (on the radio?)

Really fucked up thing is, that song came out in 2004, and is about a woman remembering 1985, like we're remembering 2005... It's already been a year more for us than her.

  • OK McDonald's, I will not use your most cost effective ordering method. I guess I will just have to order my 10 individually custom cheeseburgers at the counter instead. I might have to have e the order read back, and change my mind about a few burgers.

  • Nah, while all consumer oriented ink jet printer business models are scummy, they haven't caused death, misery, and financial ruin. Put the CEOs on your list if you must, but I think we have bigger fish to fry.

  • Seeing as how there's a growing dissent toward politicians and health-care CEOs, maybe bringing up axes isn't the smartest thing right now?

Of course I'm joking, but 75%? Why not an equally plausible number like 120% of federal agencies?

  • No. He was not a "mass shooter". Mass shooters shoot innocent civilians en masse. This guy was an assassin. One target, one goal.

While I obviously agree that it can't be described accurately as a mass shooting, I still wonder:

Do the victims need to be innocent for it to be a mass shooting?

From a philosophical POV there's a issue of defining what an innocent person is (I mean some Christian societies will say that nobody's innocent). Is innocence to be judged through the eyes of the shooter or society?

Anyway, that wasn't the point I set out to make, so let's set that aside.

Suppose one was to go to a convention of child molesters, war criminals, and nazi death camp guards, and you start shooting indiscriminately. I hope we can agree that members of the categories listed should be classified as "not innocents" by any contemporary standard. Even if only people guilty of the previously mentioned things got hit, wouldn't it still be a mass shooting once a certain number had been shot?

  • They have learned. It's a strategic decision. The election is just over, people will forget about Gaetz if he gets his week (singular, unless it gets leaked bite sized) of headlines now.

Next federal election is midterms in two years, right? The same time meatball Ron's replacement as Florida governor is elected. I give it 18months from now, and the report will be leaked over a couple of weeks. That way every time Gaetz get interviewed he can make more and more outlandish remarks, threaten whomever and launch policy ideas - just like the his senior Florida elected ephebophile has taught him. That will get/keep him in the running, or at least get enough spotlight for some PAC money. If it involves Mrs Matt Gaetz (Ginger Luckey) standing by her man "during these ridiculous accusations", I bet he'll be running for governor.

If the report gets leaked earlier it'll be because of a special election. It gets leaked later, and especially if the mrs is involved, then watch out. Because then that mother fucker (well, technically kid fucker) is going to run for POTUS after Trump.
