  • Debian has gotten so much easier to install since the release of bookworm, so I wouldn' t be surprised more new users show interest to try it out.

    fixed typo

  • But seriously, the website does need a revamp.

Look at the linux mint website, it is so clean, modern and easy to use.

  • I remember reading a comment on youtube on another video which mentioned that the download page is an IQ test to determine if a user is worthy of using Debian.

The downloader page has improved after the release of bookworm

  • Yeah, i also saw this in some lifehack video

  • What is good about having this ?

  • Yes, I am using nano currently.

But i would like to learn Vi or vim

  • I also switched to linux after using windows for more than 10 years. I still havent gotten used to linux yet. There are still a lot of things I struggle with.

I kind of had difficulty setting up my printer, I tried to install the HP drivers but it did not install. But none of this installation was required because linux supports driverless printing throught the cups service which I wish I knew earlier.

Another is the use of vi text editor, I couldn' t figure out how to even edit the file and save the file🤣.

Yeah many more examples. It is a bumpy ride. But it is all worth it.

  • Oh, also Firefox is the only mainstream browser on Android that supports installing extensions.

  • I have been using Firefox since the release of Firefox 57 aka Firefox Quantum in 2017. I love the browser and most of sites run well in firefox. But there have been a few cases where I had to use a chromium based browser.

Firefox + Ublock origin is a great and awesome combo.

I also use Firefox on android. It is okay, but I sometimes feel it is slow at loading some sites. But it is not a big deal.

  • Sorry, I don't know. I don't have an android TV box. Is kde connect available on the android tv playstore?

  • There is already one. I remember using it. But I think the linux one works better than the windows because of better integration.

  • Wow it can do that. I did not know. That is such a handy feature.

  • I use it to share files between devices. I can also share urls between devices. Clipboard history is automatically synced between devices.

I can also use it find my phone if I misplace it somewhere.

It is also possible to run custom commands. You can shut down or restart your pc from your phone. My favourite is the screenshot command, after the screenshot is captured, it is automatically transferred to my phone. A really handy feature.

There is more. You can also play pause and control the volume of a video playing on your phone or on your laptop from the connect app. Your device can even be used as a touchpad.

  • So are there any laptops or computers using RISC? First time hearing about this. (edit: fixed typo)
