  • You'd think that even with as delusional as they are, the establishment Democrats that are also taking shots at Mamdani would be able to see how much the Republicans are scared of him and the weapon he is. They'll still fuck it up, but it couldn't be more clear the path they should follow.

  • Day to day, I'd take a dry 100 degrees. My problem is a like to do cardio exercise outside, like run and bike. 100 degrees makes that significantly more difficult and dangerous. We've had upper 90s and high humidity the last couple of weeks and it's been tough to do anything more than about 20 minutes at a time.

On the other hand, I love to snowboard, which can't happen in triple digits. Snow and ice depending, biking and running are doable at single digit temps. I hate walking outside and feeling pain from the cold temps.

I'd probably take the triple digits and travel for cold vacations.

  • Imagine not understanding that single digits == cold and triple digits== hot. It's funny how everyone else seemed to figure it out.

Let's use our child brain for a minute so hopefully I can help you understand this. Let's assume that the initial post was in celcius. Single digits is cool and livable. What about triple digits? Do you think that living at triple digits celcius is even a viable option? Did you really need someone to identify the unit of measure for you to understand the question?

Your pedantry makes you look like an idiot that has no critical thinking ability.

  • There are a ton of image manipulation options out there. Free would be inkscape and gimp. I'm not proficient or even mediocre at either and perhaps one would be good enough, but I've used both for various production elements I've created or modified. I don't use iPhone, so I've got nothing for you there. I know that Pixel phones have built in editing tools, so I assume there's an iPhone option that will more or less hold your hand through some level of manipulation.

The knowledge behind the fundamentals of editing images is fairly equivalent across platforms. Things like layers and some common tools exist everywhere, it's just knowing which button to use. There will assuredly be resources out there for what you want. Think of specifically what you want to do, and search for solutions..when you come across a solution that mentions something that you aren't familiar with, open a new tab and dive down the rabbit hole. Eventually, things will start to click and your ability to absorb new information will go much quicker since you have built a solid foundation.

  • No religious body should ever receive federal money for anything short of a natural disaster to repair their assets. Jews, Baptists, Muslims, Buddhists, etc... they're all the same in my eyes, and should be in the eyes of the government. They are all fucking loony toons that believe in ghosts, and that shit has no place in law and government. Let them fail for their beliefs or grow up and join and evolve with society.

  • His health can't fail fast enough. The stroke unfortunately failed. I'm not saying that it didn't change his views as there is precedent with Phineas Gage, but if I suffer a stroke and survive only to be a dog shit human, I'd prefer if I didn't survive in the first first place. For the betterment of humanity, the stroke should have finished the job, but instead we're stuck with a Nazi in denial.

  • There is a clarification from Google in he article that I don't believe was there when I first posted. It still by default allows Gemini to have access to things I don't want it to access, which is anything. It can be blocked through the Gemini apps activity, but I don't think that was clear in the OG text.

None the less, they claim that it will be completely offline and that no information will be used to train their models. I believe that's probably true in the short term, but I don't trust them as far as I can throw them, and I've got fucked up shoulders. I've little doubt that they will change policy in 6 months to a year so that some data is sent anonymously.

I just want it so if I say don't allow this thing at all, ever, that stays true and they don't make me later opt out of that thing.

  • I should rephrase. They don't make cheap bad products. I think iOS, Mac OS, and their walled garden approach makes their hardware a bad product. Compound that with being exorbitantly expensive for what you get, and that's always been too much to overcome for me to support. Now they are/have becoming the less bad option.

  • I do have it disabled, but this article suggests that it will ignore that and it will be integrated in apps that I really really don't want it in. I could stomach it if it was search and other functionality like that only, or even if it 100% ran local with no ability to phone home and train on my data, but it doesn't. Not that it can be listening to calls, reading messages, etc, I'm definitely hard out.

  • The title isn't there to tell the whole story though. It should give a high level summary and then the details are in the article. If you hypothetically put something like what you suggested, it still doesn't give all of the context, and the title would need to be longer to include the history of Musk, his drug use, his position with Tesla, etc, and you can't put that all in the title. I'm all for dunking on that Nazi whenever we can, but I personally don't think that the title of this article deserves any criticism, especially in the age of clickbait titles that don't give anything, this one is decently descriptive.

  • I've been Android and Windows user for pretty much all of my life. Vehemently anti Apple because of the company and I've thought the products are trash. I've been 100% Linux for over a year and a half, and if this Gemini stuff comes through, I will not have an android phone either. I have a Pixel and my old still functional Pixel. I need to try installing grapheneOS or something else and trial it to see if it will work for me.

If Linux isn't an option for me in the future for whatever reason, I will be purchasing a Mac. I will never have a Windows machine for the rest of my life if I have any say in the matter, work being the obvious and uncontrollable exception. The fact that I'm even entertaining the idea of owning an iPhone or a Mac is really telling about how far Android and Windows and enshitified.

  • The headline to me clearly is stating that people are not buying Teslas and are buying alternative Chinese based EVs instead. I think that anyone that's heard Elon's name over the past 6 months can read between the lines and understand the causation here.

  • This is a common misconception. If a person or corporation takes money for charity, like rounding up for bill at point of sale, that entity doesn't get to write that off taxes. They can claim publicity for raising money for charity, but they didn't get any direct financial windfall. They would only get something if they were to say, match the donation contribution.
