  • I just swapped out my ~5 year old LG C9 for a new LG C3 due to a slight amount of burn in. It was in the center of the screen and while nobody else could see it I could.

    It's also our main TV.

For gaming it's amazing, incredibly low latency and the pixel smudging from poor pixel response rate is gone, so it's more like a CRT in that respect.

  • Denver Metro is on par with the cost of living of San Diego Metro. Lots of people agreed with you already and moved here.

  • Exactly! I spent an entire night playing a football game over and over in my head that didn't happen and wasn't important to the team. But John Elway just could not throw for a first down to save his life.....

  • Good choice, a favorite of mine as well. In the middle of the night when I'm supposed to be sleeping with a theme that often makes no sense in reality but I'm bought in 100% anyway until my alarm goes off.

  • Just do it in one 20 hour sitting with hyper focus. Ignore eating, bathroom breaks, and all.

Am ADHD and have done this...

  • I'm the primary contributor of business book reviews on a few Slack instances. I post about once a week.

  • This is what I thought was going to happen at the end of 2 and was so excited I had to watch 3 right away. I was disappointed.

  • Thank you, that's wild!

  • This image is disturbing..... I can't wait to send it to my kids!

  • You're saying my intentionally over simplified example to get a point across wasn't perfect? Amazing analysis....

Do you go by the nickname Captain Obvious with your friends?

  • It takes a ton of bravery to be a whistle blower when others aren't dying like 80 year old diabetes patients. It'll take even more now, and I hope there are more. Boeing needs to be kicked in the bags.

  • Turning good food into poop.

  • Don't be fooled by randomness. Randomness comes in clumps. For example if you flipped a thousand coins every day for a year and measured how each one predicted the stock market, heads for up, tails for down, at the end of the year you'll likely have one coin that far out performs the average. But would you use that coin to determine your investment strategy the next year?

And yeah Boeing is now killing people outside of their planes.

  • Great details here, thank you for sharing!

  • Without a doubt! Both extremes are terrible.

  • The way you phrased that is powerful. Nobody should want to spread that stuff everywhere... Ew!

  • Ever see the Mythbusters episode where they lined up toothbrushes to see how far fecal matter traveled. Right near the toilet was the worst but nowhere was safe.

So yes washing hands helps but it's not the be all, end all solution.

I'm sure someone will disagree with me but I think protecting ourselves completely from infection isn't a good idea. Particularly after reading Immune (good but not the best resource) I think washing our hands all the time or using antibacterial soap is not a good choice for our individual health and immune system strength.
