I have to make my way over to the East (dun-dun-duuuun) today. My trek shall involve an hour and a half's worth of travel to go half an hour away, and will involve a walk, a bus, walk, tram, another walk, train, another walk. Wish me the ability to deal with people tomorrow

(Only have to do it one way which is nice)

I woke up feeling really sad and bad today. I don't know where it came from, I was okayish last night

Depends on the scale. When I had nothing to do, individual days seemed to go for weeks, while weeks went by like seconds. Now the days usually go by at a decent rate, but the weeks feel long, while dates are flying by about as quickly as somebody whose new year resolution was to run a marathon. I just get by by jumping from event to event though. Everything is just a lead up into the next thing that happens, good or bad

Kinda crazy it's almost month 2 of the year. I, for one, hope we maintain this velocity

In any case, I never perceived it as a slight against me, or really anybody. I just get annoyed by this stupid US Defaultism crap. But your story makes sense, honestly wouldn't expect anything more than that from the average US tourist.

Round 2 of use it, or lose it:

I opened a jar of simmer sauce (garlic and honey I think), you know those ready made marinades for chicken. It says use within 3 days. I opened it on Sunday and only used half. No mold that I can see - probably okay to finish today?

It's the loud abrupt noise part of that that makes me angry. I'm sensitive to loud noises, and easily startled even if it's in a video. It's not that bad if it's a normal sound, but half the time they boost the loud noises, then trim off the beginning and ends so it doesn't sound like a normal sound anymore. I don't want a video about making tacos to become a fucking PTSD attack

Interesting. I was somewhat keen on the switch, but never placed it particularly high up on my list because the selection of games were pretty limited, and it was a bit pricey for me

I'm sure the 2nd one will still get a fair few sales and have a bit of appeal, but I'd see it as mostly appealing to the millennial crowd who grew up with OG Nintendo games and really just want to play them in a portable form factor that isn't a phone. I don't think it would have a lot of appeal to younger people who might have just gotten or been interested in the OG switch because it was the best dedicated portable gaming system you could get at the time

Honestly, a decently large amount of the people I know in the age range of 30-45 either have a switch and love it, or really want one. I don't know many people in their 20s or below who thinks much of it at all. Just my 2c

Another layer of complexity is that I honestly don't know if I would've accepted, had I gotten the message earlier. Obviously if I knew I'd soon lose the opportunity, I would, but otherwise, it would've taken a lot of rationalising and deciding, and maybe months before I would have made a decision. And I probably would've chosen not to meet or contact him

There's some other familial stuff going on to where even now I don't know if his intentions were good, what sort of person he was or life he led, and if it was a genuine request, or intended to cause drama. That adds a bit of guilt for thinking that way
