  • I'm in the same boat with my foldable. It'd be a handicap now to watch videos on a smaller screen now that I've gotten used to the bigger one. I only use the small screen for phone calls now because it's awkward holding the large screen to your face for that.

  • Have had a samsung foldable and in a 2 year time period I've had to replace the factory installed screen protector twice. It started w a little crack that crept upwards until the whole protector was split in half. Ended up just peeling it off after the 2nd replacement started cracking. I imagine ppl don't like the idea of not being able to protect their screens for one of their premium products....

On the flip side I did watch the superbowl from a hotel pool with this phone and it was perfect for that.

  • One of the health warnings:

...[exposure to porn] “is associated with low self-esteem and body image eating disorders, impaired brain development, and other emotional and mental illnesses..."

Ummmm but what about BBW? In all seriousness though, for these 'valid' health concerns associated with low self esteem ...isn't this the slippery slope towards modesty policing of women and women only in some of those fun countries??

  • This is a good synopsis of the complexity of the problem with a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.

To add to that, the US stance since 1972 has been to abide by the One China policy. As such, the US recognizes that Taiwan is legitimately owned by China. I am doubtful that this will change with this POTUS or the next. However there is also the Taiwan Relations Act (TRA) which allows the US to treat Taiwan in some capacity as in independent state. The TRA does include the sale of arms for which Taiwan may use to defend itself from aggressors, and the US does sell heavily to Taiwan. The TRA also neither includes nor precludes US military intervention in the event of conflict.

What's interesting is that in 2022 Biden said that Taiwan can define itself however the fk it wants to - not his exact words. This is a big departure from our One China policy which states no, absolutely no independence whatsoever of Taiwan. So I think things are evolving a bit, but agree with /u/Puzzle_Sluts_4Ever that there's a lot more at stake to the US than with Ukraine.

    Love the name btw.

  • I have done foot flushing as well but only for the nastiest of public bathrooms. I get the ickiness feeling too at times but I generally try to be respectful to the general condition of the bathroom so it doesnt trigger a bad domino effect. Nothing more jarring than going into a nice bathroom and seeing a set of shoeprints on the seat. Then other people start doing the same if they know the seats been contaminated.

  • This is typical behavior for China to show its displeasure when Taiwan gets involved in non-China, independence-affirming things. Its so routine, that at this point it'd be more significant if they DIDNT provide some type of military response.

  • Thank you for your answer. I can get on board with that but at the same time at the end of the day chatgpt and other AI/advanced software are shiny new toys that will be hard to resist. I know I'll be part of the problem as it progresses but I appreciate that your opinions on this given me some food for thought...

  • I'm genuinely curious...why are you passing? I've used it web chatgpt a few times and it seems to have good use for summarizing answers to questions for me. Is it security concerns for the app or overall decline in performance?

  • How to read.

Illiteracy still exists throughout the world (~15%). I think it is important for every human being to be able to access information this way more than ever now that we are in the digital/information age. I also think that a higher literacy rate probably has a higher chance of ending conflicts in many parts in the world, result in less global poverty, and elevate general human well-being.

  • This definitely. For ethical or cost-effective reasons. I think price is going to be the main incentive. If its a dollar less a pound for lab grown hamburger and options at fast food outlets - we'll definitely be there. Real meat will become the new "fancy food" - wasteful and indulgent spending.
