  • Just turn noscript on and the popup doesnt show up.

  • And also during that discussion with their support team, state your reason for leaving. That will get a lot more attention than the rest of us whinging online where we can easily be ignored.

  • But we already had a plague...

Yes, but what about second plague...

  • I want people to try to be less pesimistic, the point is that technicalities like this will waste time. Every one of these exectuive orders is going to be challanged in court, and while the GOP controls the higher courts, these cases will start in the lower ones. With any luck, the lower courts will stay the order until things can get resolved. Every appeal, every challange takes time to process and judges are under no obligation to resolve things quickly.

The goal currently isnt to try and overturn the order, thats just pissing into the wind. The goal is to waste their time for 2 years and hope the house flips, if it does, we can send 47 back to his golf course for the rest of his term because he wont be able to accomplish anything.

  • Fuck, your right, annual rewatch day of V for Vendetta. (Amongst other notable events)

  • International Talk Like a Pirate day (Sept 19)

    Lief Erikson day (Sept 9)

Memorial for the Edmund Fitzgerald (Nov 10)

    No Capes (Nov 15)

    Mario day (Mar 10)

    Pi day (Mar 14)

The Ides of March (Mar 15, et tu brute)

Elvis Presley's birthday (Jan 8, Nixon's is on the 9th)

    Star Wars day (May 4)

Got to find things to look forward to so I mark the calendar with many things, some silly, some serious.

  • [checks watch] 24 hours and the in-fighting has already started. [Insert popcorn munching noises here]

  • Dont worry, if you put propoganda of opposite polarity together they cancel eachother out. /s

  • [read in the tone of a comic book]. Once upon a time, RFK jr was a normal government bootlicker. Then one day he was bitten by a radioactive donald and became SUPER SPREADER!!! A masked hero fighing against common sense medicine and validatable science.

  • Correct, candidates are not entitled to votes, but I dont know what voting system your fantasy world uses.

Lets ignore parties for a moment and just say you have two people running that are different degrees of evil. I would argue a failure to vote for the lesser evil is to abide the greater evil (does this make you evil?). In this case, abstaining or apathy itself is also a choice, and would be cosidered evil because you did not act against the greater evil.

Lets add a more realistic third candidate in and demonstrate the spoiler effect. Where there is an idealogical divide, the side with the fewer candidates wins. If a third party throws their hat into the ring, they end up encroching on support held by their idealogical peers, effectivly handing the win to their oppsition by simply existing.

Combining both of these observations looks an awful lot like the electoral college and the US voting system. Neither major party is willing to allow a third party to exist in their space, because if they do they lose by spoiler effect and forces people to strategicly vote instead of standing by their ideals. The solution is getting rid of first-past-the-post and moving to a ranked choice or instant run-off system similar to the ones found in the EU, this would allow people to put their ideal candidate first without jepordizing their idealogical peers. Until such a time when that is a reality, being a protest voter/non-voter is making a choice against your own self interests and the interests of those you care for.

  • Coward... If you cant stand in the cold for 15 min. To give a speech you shouldn't be able to do the job. If he is worried about getting harrison'd then wear a better coat.

  • Dont worry, atleast they are still flying half a ship.

  • This is the reason I imported a Fairphone 4 to the US (before they got a US vendor... Would not recommend it unless you want to work on your phone instead of having it just work (they are fine now, there is proper support, I just have the old hardware). Im functionally locked to T-mobile, it has very unusual issues when Im on a call while moving and it was a bit pricy for what you get. But all that was worth it to be able to say I have a smartphone where noone died while making it.

  • It has a 3.5mm headphone jack, look how brave they are \o/

  • If not friend, why friend shaped?

  • Yes, but im already using the computer for other things and it would be more inefficient to double up on heating sources. I can confirm from personal expirence a PC in a small room can sufficently act as climate control.

  • I also would like to see some more congressional fisticuffs, they may be nicer to each other after the go for a few rounds and a couple concussions may help their decision making abilities. /s

  • I use the GPD pocket and its magical when flying to roll up with a laptop on a plane with a 9-inch screen. My model even has an i7 in it so it can handle some games. Only major complaints is that I had some issues getting the screen to play nice with wayland (Ive since fixed it, it was just effort) and its keyboard is an ergonimic train wreck.
