A lot of governments failed to increase the sizes of their parliaments as their population grew and more complex social issues come to their tables. Meaning more work and knowledge required from the same people. And the rise of narcissists to the top will create a poisonous cocktail I imagine.

Oh and don't forget they are also constantly directly bombarded by the crazies.. all day and all night via social media.

Here in the Netherlands they don't allow carrier locking and still sell on these installment plans.

They are 2 separate services (telecom & financing) and thus cannot be linked at sale. That's not an issue.. why would it be different in the US?

I doubt that's the reason.. as they could have also just used other standoff weapons then instead of clocking a round the world trip on the B2... but it's possible.

I don't know if this will be a big issue for small businesses. But in any case where there is construction of multiple companies in a structure to separate profits and losses for fuckery with taxes and fines, I think I would also be OK with that whole structure being seen as one entity and treated as such.

The billionaire class however is uniquely adept at this kind of fuckery and wield an ungodly level of power, only surpassed by governments. And I think governments need to be careful that these assholes don't get too much power.. so it's high time they take them down a peg.. or 10.

OK so you buy the phone on a payment plan.. and credit check. Then once it's paid off it should be unlocked.

Wha? The guy I responded to said the customers now pay full price up front. If a device is bought it should be unlocked.

Additionally giving away a phone for a determined time contract means that the company is technically giving you a loan and it should be on your credit record, require the company to do a proper credit check and be allowed to give out loans.

Bottom line, it's predatory and should not be allowed. Noone is advocating giving 1000 dollar phones for free.. it was a strawman you stuck me with.. but I don't want it.
