  • After the way that DeSantis went after Disney just to prove a point that he's in charge, I don't think corporations would let him become POTUS. He'd be too dangerous to their bottom line.

  • I have been approached double digits number of times which led me down the same thought path as you.

Yess, right‽ It's odd. I was like, "What is going on??" I think you might be on the ball. I'm attractive enough for the woman, but not too attractive to intimidate the man. Also, thinking about what people have said, I now remember that I asked a gay guy that was into kink about it. He said that my initial presentation is that I look non-judgmental and down for whatever. Basically, I seem like someone that could possibly be interested in it, but would be chill about it if I wasn't.

  • And if he did fuck a couch, that's 100% okay. No kink shaming either.

  • omg, a gem! this is the quality shit i suffer thru hours of mindlessly browsing on the internet for. thank you, PenisDuckCuck 😘

  • Lemmy has naturally become the unofficial home of furries and trans. I love it and am happy to be here for it before it goes mainstream and gets enshitified. We're living tomorrow's good ole days and don't even know it.

  • It’s crazy that people think JD Vance had sex with a couch. There’s no evidence JD Vance had sex with a couch. It’s liberals that are perpetuating the idea that JD Vance had sex with a couch. JD Vance has specifically denied that he has had bare skin contact with a couch within a 5 year period. It’s ludicrous that JD Vance was banned from a Cleveland area IKEA after having intercourse with a KIVIK Sofa Chaise.

I’ll repeat, there is no evidence to believe JD Vance had sex with a couch. JD Vance is not a couchfucker.

Ok, but how can someone prove that Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance has not had sex with a couch? I think the only thing we can really take as conclusive evidence that JD Vance did not have sex with a couch is video of his entire life showing that there were no instances where JD Vance had sex with a couch. Does anyone else have any ideas to prove that JD Vance did not have sex with a couch, because I don't think that JD Vance had sex with a couch, but there are rumors that JD Vance had sex with a couch.

  • Ooh! This might have something to do with it. I don't make any effort to be extra masculine (a bro). And, if I feel like doing something feminine, I do it. Sometimes I do something feminine just to prove a point.

Disclaimer: I'm using masculine and feminine stereotypes prescribed by dominant hetero-normative culture. I don't really believe in those things like that.

  • It’s 2024, people are more open minded to things that aren’t cis monogamous relationships,

This has been going on since like 2006.

you might be in the sweet spot of attractive. Better looking than most, but still approachable.

I think this might be it. I've had friends that meet several women every time they go out, so I know they're seen as attractive. I have never received the type of attention they have, but I have had ex partners, friends, and acquaintances give me respectful compliments.

  • Super interesting! As someone that was born and lived the vast majority of their life in Florida, LA is odd to me. I've been a few times. The main things we have in common are similar economic models, language (almost a different dialect tho), and are in the same federation. Mostly everything else is different. It's almost a different country.

Here are some differences that stick out to me:

    • Mountains and hills vs nearly 100% flat
    • Deserts vs swamps
    • Dry vs humid
    • Sparse vegetation vs tropical rain forest
    • Clay sand vs dirt sand
    • Cold beaches w/ major waves vs warm beaches w/ flat water
    • Barely rains vs daily storms
    • Earthquakes vs hurricanes
    • Mexicans vs Puerto Ricans, Cubans, & Dominicans
    • Spanish names vs indigenous names
    • Cowboys vs Southerners
  • I imagine they do what any selfish person would do: find a way to get what they want. If they are bound by religious rules that prevent them from stealing or lying, they'll figure out a way to manipulate others to get what they want. One popular way among manipulators is to trigger a sense of guilt or obligation, then present as a victim. The victim of the manipulator will do something to address their discomfort. Seeing the manipulator presenting as a victim, the manipulator would likely be the recipient of behaviors meant to relieve the true victim's emotions.

    Example

Manipulator: I have fallen on such horrible times and need things. I'm hoping someone in our religious community listens to the guidance in our religion that directs us to help each other in times of need. Lucky for you, you don't have to worry about that, right? I'm so happy it's just me and not someone else. I would be so distraught if you fell on hard times.

Victim: Oh yeah, I'm lucky. Since I'm in such a good position, I will give you things.

  • I don't even know what that question means. What is furniture music?

  • Not really. There's a popular vote interstate compact that is designed to bypass a constitutional amendment. Basically, the law says that once enough states agree to it, meaning to total electoral votes reaches 270, their votes go for whichever candidate won the popular vote.

  • I've heard mixed reviews. I have a buddy that's from an Appalachian family. He liked the book, but said the movie was missing a lot of intimacy that is difficult to portray in film.

  • I was surprised. It was an important speech that I think I will remember more than any state of the union so far. The dude is a legit president, not a conman taking advantage of the position for his benefit.
