A huge amount of my watching is done on 55” 4k TVs where the resolution drop is incredibly noticeable. Even 1080p content looks like absolute shit on them most of the time.
If you watch in a web browser then there is no drop in quality cause the browser version only plays 720p
Setting any of my monitors to 4k or 144hz just resulted in a completely black screen that persisted through reboots. Only solution I found was to plug into a completely separate, lower resolution monitor.

And even then the majority of developers aren’t on Linux cause the AM and ManagedInstalls doesn’t work as well as Mac or Windows.
The F500 I work for is almost entirely mac, with the few stragglers on windows for specific applications. Linux just doesn’t support the same kind of enterprise tools that the other 2 main OS’s do.
YouTube works for the other 6 hours of content I’m playing in the background. Netflix having long tv series keeps me on the platform cause where else am I going to find 20 seasons of one show easily accessible
Can’t use a VPN while gaming without a high possibility of bans. And I don’t care to pirate. It’s not something I’m interested in doing and takes more time/effort than I’m willing to put in for mindless entertainment.
Might finally get me to cancel Netflix, but who am I kidding, I probably have 6+ hours of it playing in the background daily.
The problem I really have is the lack of 4k without buying a ton of extra screens. A single screen 4k plan would fix 99% of my complaints about pricing.
It was the only one I could get to work with my hardware. Tried Ubuntu, mint and Pop, and none of then worked. Arch was the only one that would output to 3 displays.
I find that if I have to RTFM for my daily computer I’m always going to hate using it. I don’t like having to tinker with my operating system. It’s not fun, it just makes me hate Linux. There’s a reason I switched back to windows after a week. Nothing works and I’m not willing to waste hours of my time trying to fix it.
There’s yet to be a good major fps game from an indie studio. Once that happens maybe there’s a chance, but fps games make up a massive portion of the industry
Games, music, photography are all still legitimate use cases.
I pretty much exclusively play anticheat games and have 0 interest in single player games. I’d quit gaming overall because I’m simply not interested in playing the type of games that end up working on Linux.
Working in a coworking space has all the problems of office working without any of the benefits.
I don’t need to be friends with my coworkers, but having non-scheduled interaction with them makes working with them much much easier. I worked on 3 different remote teams and I honestly don’t even think I could name most of my former coworkers, let alone recognize them.
Hybrid working is completely useless if you’re not in the same space as your coworkers.
I get that some people don’t like working in person, but it’s much easier to get things done and to get short, off the cuff answers without sitting around blocked for 2 hours because nobody will take 2 minutes to answer a question.
100% this whole thing screams hate crime, and on top of that delivery drivers are statistically one of the more dangerous jobs out there (delivery drivers are much more likely to be shot than cops).
